It would be nice to have RD people racing together in DriveClub, so in order to find eachother I thought it would be prudent to have a PSN ID list so we can quickly find eachother.
I'll keep the first post updated as people post in the thread.
Please use this template when you post:

<PSN Name> - <Race Department name>

so for me this would be:

Yskonyn - Robin

PSN names list:

Bought the game and I am pleasantly surprised! It actually feels very good with the controller! At least in the starting race (all I did so far) you can feel weight shifting nicely.
I didnt realise it was only 25 euro's, so I took the plunge right as I saw that.

I also took the liberty to create a RD club as I didn't saw any available.
It's invite only, so please contact me if you want to join.
The lock is to prevent any randoms cluttering up the RD club. :)

Well looking at the people posting here a RD club of at least four should be doable! ;)
Are you allowed to join more than one club?

One club at a time but you can leave a club at any time and join another though. However, if you leave a club, any "club locked" cars you unlocked will have to be unlocked again in the next club you join.

If you like the game, the season pass is very much worth it. So much DLC for your money.

Wish the game would include wheel support other than for Thrustmaster. Most annoying that I can play GT5 on my PS3 with my G27 yet can't use the G27 on my PS4.

Likelihood is the G27 will never work with PS4. Wheels with the latest gen consoles (XBOXONE too I believe) are affected by what seems to boil down to licensing deals, security chips and compatability drivers.

Evolution Studios' exclusive PlayStation 4 racing game has been updated to version 1.14 with a new free car and a new free tour.

In the attached trailer you can take a gander at the spiffy but perhaps daftly-named Ferrari LaFerrari, a supercar that us simracers have got to know thanks to Assetto Corsa. The new update for Driveclub includes the LaFerrari and the Rimac Concept_One as new free cars and also the Startline Tour as a new free tour.

The Startline Tour features 11 events and 45 objectives, and "mainly serves as a varied and well balanced introduction" to the game's offerings and modes. Meanwhile, the Rimac Concept_One will be free to download in the next week from the Playstation Store.

Another new feature is Multiplayer Race Replays, which predictably allows you to save a replay at the end of any online race. Kudos to Evolution Studios for constantly updating the game with new features and content - while I do not own a PS4 I'd surely love to give this arcade racer a spin, since PC hasn't seen a quality old-school title in a while, if you ask me.

Changelog
  • Adds the Ferrari LaFerrari to your Garage! Complete Rank 5 of the "Ferrari Owners Club" Driver Accolade to earn access to this car for use in all areas of the game.
  • Adds the Startline Tour. All new players will now jump into a brand new Tour when they first play the game called Startline.
  • The Startline Tour is available for free and features 11 events and 45 objectives. This Tour mainly serve as a varied and well balanced introduction to DRIVECLUB and is based on some of the most popular and entertaining events from elsewhere in the game.
  • Adds Multiplayer Race Replays to the game. You can now save a Replay at the end of any Multiplayer Race and view it later from the Replays menu.
  • Adds a new Audio Settings option to change the acoustic settings for all cockpit cameras, so that you can change between internally recorded sound or externally recorded sound.
  • Adds a new Single Event option to set "Time Of Day" for a Single Event to half past every hour as well as on the hour.
  • Adds a new Single Event option to change the number of laps in a Race to any number from 1 to 25 laps.
  • Adds a new Controller Settings option to allow adjustment of the steering lock rotation angle on all supported steering wheels.
  • Includes general improvements to the game for better performance, stability and usability.

My Question of the day who's wheel works with this game and also who's wheel does not work with this game? At least for me and in my own opinion how developers handle support for input devices is of the utmost importence. To the point if the support for input devices is Half assed a good chance the game won't be that good

Currently the Thrustmaster T500 and T300 work with this game. It is rumored from Evolution Studios that Fanatec wheels will be patched in later since they now have a working PS4 driver.

Evolution Studios has updated Driveclub to version 1.15, adding support to the Lamborghini Icons pack.

Click here to watch the Lamborghini Icons trailer!

It's quite admirable: Evolution has been updating Driveclub since its so-so launch, and the raft of free updates has apparently improved the game considerably.

The download size of the 1.15 patch is 260MB, and the update raises the level cap to 55.

This month's free car is the Citroën DS Survolt.

The update also adds support for the Lamborghini Icons expansion and Torque Tour.
You'll have to wait a tiny bit more for the Lamborghini pack, as it's due out on May 26. In the meanwhile, here's the full changelog from the official Driveclub Facebook page:

  • "New Driver Levels: You can now reach Level 55 and each new level has a reward
  • New menu images to show off some of the best ‪#‎PS4share‬ pictures created by DRIVECLUB players
  • A new option to toggle the entire On-Screen Display on and off while you race, without pausing
  • Statistics have been added for all cars from Expansion Packs and free downloads
  • Includes general improvements for game performance, stability and usability
  • Adds support for the DS Survolt, coming to PlayStation®Store as a free download
  • Adds support for the Torque Tour Pack which includes 11 new Events and 5 new Trophies
  • Adds support for 2 new livery packs and each Livery Pack contains 5 new livery patterns to customise your cars with
  • Private lobbies: Development of Private Lobbies for Multiplayer is ongoing alongside development of server improvements
  • Hoon-a-Tic fix: We’re fixing the Drift stat issue some of you are seeing that affects the Hoon-a-tic trophy and will keep you posted on which update that will be added to
  • New Driver levels: More will be added each month with new rewards for every level
  • Big improvements to challenges: To make them easier to use and to improve server performance further
  • New Accolades: For Japan & new manufacturers"

Sony has officially announced that Driveclub Playstation Plus Edition will launch tomorrow.

The news comes straight from the official Playstation Blog, where Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios boss, has confirmed the release date.

Curiously enough, Driveclub PS Plus was accidentally released yesterday and then immediately taken offline, because the "servers weren't ready yet".

The PS Plus edition of the arcade racer developed by Evolution will be available to all Playstation Plus members starting from tomorrow, Thursday 25 June. At launch, only offline racing will be supported, as Sony slowly rolls out the online modes for all players to ensure a smooth launch, "as an extra precaution".

Are you going to try Driveclub for the first time or are you a veteran? Let us know in the comments!

I pre-ordered the bluray when it first came out.
Played for 7 minutes, then ejected and sold.

Didn't care yet about the missing features, but i hate the driving model. No way to enjoy this game.

I believe I read on another forum that the G29 is supported. I wish they would support the Fanatec wheels since Project CARS does on the PS4. The T500RS and T300 wheels are currently supported.

Driveclub has reached version 1.21 with another big update for the exclusive PlayStation 4 racing game.

Evolution Studios really has been working hard on Driveclub since its somewhat troubled launch. The studio keeps on pumping out updates and adding new content and features at a monthly rate, so the new patch shouldn't come as a surprise.

Included this month are a new free supercar (the Renault RS01 - as pictured above), the new Sprint mode which brings 12 new track variations and many other things.

The update also adds support for the next free car (the Ferrari 488GTB) and for the Thrustmaster TH8PA shifter. The latter is a very interesting addition, and one that certainly isn't a given on an arcade racer; both sequential and clutch shift modes will be supported.

There are a lot of little things added by the patch, like the rebalancing of some cars, and the addition of more car stats on the selection screen.

Update 1.21 weighs 500MB and will bring the total size of the Driveclub installation up to 11,3GB.

Evolution Studios Closes.jpg

Sony have announced the closure of popular PlayStation 4 developers Evolution Studios following a review of its European operations.

Based in the UK, Evolution Studios have been responsible for a number of console racing games since the studio's inception back in 1999. With titles such as the WRC series of games and the lesser know MotorStorm franchise Evolution upped the stakes in 2014 releasing promising arcade racer DriveClub to PS4.

Initially struggling with a number of issues on release Evolution have worked tirelessly (no pun intended) to bring DriveClub up to a high standard and achieve over 2 million units sold.

DriveClub Community Manager Jamie Brayshaw made the following statement following the announcement of Evolution Studio's closure:

Taking to Twitter to share the news with fans Director Paul Rustchynsky was full of praise for his former colleagues at the Cheshire based studio as well as the many local fans who helped deliver over 2 million sales for the PS4 title:

While redundancies are unfortunately inevitable in these situations, Sony have confirmed they will look to place staff with other teams under the Japanese corporations vast umbrella of games development companies as well as helping open up opportunities outside of the companies immediate control.

"We accept that this decision will mean that we risk losing high calibre staff, but by focusing on other studios that already have exciting new projects in development we believe we will be in a stronger position going forward and able to offer the best possible content of the highest quality for our consumers," it said in a statement.

"Where possible we will try to reallocate people onto other projects. If appropriate opportunities are not possible within the company, we will assist staff in any way we can, including speaking with local employers and with other development companies."

With a high volume of proven talented racing game specialists now looking for work following the closure it could prove an opportunity for Sony stablemate Gran Turismo to boost its in house talent prior to the launch of both the as yet unannounced GT7 and the incoming Gran Turismo Sport due to release in the next months.

Its never good to hear of established games developers shutting up shop and the uncertainty the many local staff face in the coming weeks. All at RaceDepartment wish the guys and girls over at Evolution the very best of luck and best wishes with whatever future opportunities and adventures they embark upon as one era comes to an end and another one is yet to begin.
