Codemasters have confirmed the full list of supported peripherals for the upcoming DiRT Rally 2.0.

The good news for gamers is many of the most common brands look set to be supported from the off, including much of the Fanatec, Logitech and Thrustmaster wheel range - however it is also nice to see direct drive wheel support in the form of the SimSteering and Accuforce wheels - an increasing trend in sim racing as the popularity of direct drive wheels continues to increase amongst the sim racing player base.

How successful was rallycross in DR1? I barely touched it. Not because it was bad but because rally is so much funnier, and it sort of felt like DR1 was a rally game and not a rallycross game. Now with DR2 it seems they put even more focus on rallycross? Why not put more effort into rally? Rhetorical question - its all done so my question doesnt matter. Its just thinking out loud. Maybe they couldnt license any more so they had to fill it with rallycross OR it was super popular in DR1 - which i never saw personally, but maybe it was.

Didn't Oculus pay for the initial VR development of DR? When they say Oculus heard us, I wonder if that means Oculus is on the hook to pay for the VR development again.

At the end of the day I'm just happy it will support VR, but I am curious if this was an Oculus arm twisting exercise by Codemasters.

I don't understand why CM would even need outside support. When they went public last year they pitched EGO to the investors being a VR-ready and compatible engine.

Also makes me wonder what this means for PSVR and Vive.

They have paid for the WRX license. They are the "official FIA World RX game". I am actually surprised they've been allowed to use so little RX and so, badly implemented RX in DR and D4.

Arcade confirmed
Barrel Rolls @ 2:14
It doesn't get more arcade than that !
Codies probably loose 95% of the hardcore simmers with the barrel rolls alone :)
A clear trait of arcade !
I buy every single Rally game / sim but honestly I don't think it'll live on my SSD past the release of WRC 8 ;)
Well, you seem pretty disappointed, to put it mildly. :D
If I see one more your post about it I think I'll start to take you misery seriously.
Wait, are you telling me DR wasnt arcade for you? It has a good driving model for sure and isn’t spoongie like gran turismo but the car beave almost in a total arcade way.
I disagree.
Which Rally simulator is then closer to simulation, by you ?
Beside t-Rex coeval - good old Richard Burns rally of course.

Great news, might buy it now it VR confirmed.
Thing is, if its Rift only, will it be OH only or will it be Steam too?
I would prefer Steam, but will get it on OH if I have to.

Here it is ...................

Well Codemasters are so good at hyping their games they even fooled me with the surprise release of Dirt Rally. ( and I previously told myself to NEVER ever buy a Codemasters game  )

Codemasters will never ever make a true sim cause they simply haven't got the will nor skill to do it !

If they were truly serious about Rally they would have gone the Kunos rout and produced a good base version and built on that with Stage/Countries, Cars DLCs

Why do you think they talk about handling rather than physics ?

@69Harder

Wtf there was disagreeing with my post? I said literally this: "Well dunno, I think lots of hardcore simmers played Dirt Rally." and linked some videos of stupid barrel rolls in Dirt Rally. And you press disagree?

Literally EVERY simracing YouTuber played Dirt Rally. EmptyBox, Jimmy Broadbent plays it regularly, literally everyone.

At which part I said those barrel rolls are realistic, genius? They are totally ridiculous, let me repeat, read really slowly... "I think lots of hardcore simmers played Dirt Rally" are you following?

Your original claim was that 95% of "hardcore simmers" didn't touch DR, which is nonsense. It has nothing to do with if the game is actually hardcore sim. Almost everyone played it, despite it's shortcomings, because there is nothing better in last 10 years. And they will play 2.0 too, if it's anything similar
