Codemasters have confirmed the ŠKODA Fabia Rally and Citroën C4 Rally will be coming to DiRT Rally 2.0 this March 12th - with Monte Carlo to follow shortly after.

Unlike 2015's DiRT Rally video game, DR2.0 comes complete with a robust post launch DLC delivery plan, the first fruits of which will be made available to players as soon as this March 12th. Containing the ŠKODA Fabia Rally and Citroën C4 Rally, the 'season one, stage one' content will be available for all players who own the Deluxe Edition, while Day One and Standard Edition owners will have the opportunity to purchase the Deluxe Content Pack or individual pieces of content separately via their digital store of choice.

"We are delighted to bring back two iconic rally cars which will excite our core community and give new fans a taste of rally history,” commented Ross Gowing, Chief Games Designer. “The Citroën C4 Rally was extremely dominant in the late 2000s and features Petter Solberg’s livery, who enjoys a great working relationship with the studio. The ŠKODA Fabia Rally was driven by the great Colin McRae, and we are very proud that players will be able to experience another of his iconic vehicles. Players can expect incredible traction and stability from the both these vehicles, and they make a fantastic addition to the legendary car roster in DiRT Rally 2.0.”
Hot on the heels of these two new cars will be the returning Monte Carlo Rally, redesigned and uplifted for DR2.0, which should be made available to purchase as part of this first DLC pack a little later in the month on March 26th.

DiRT Rally 2.0 DLC Schedule
  • Week 3: Monte Carlo Rally, Special Livery
  • Week 5: BMW M1 Procar Rally, Open Manta 400, Special Livery
  • Week 7: Sweden Rally
  • Week 9: Ford Focus RS Rally 2007, Subaru Impreza, Special Livery
  • Week 11: Germany Rally

Players who bought the Deluxe Edition will receive all Season One content, release dates above, plus Season Two which features a similar level of content as part of their Season Pass. All other players can purchase the Deluxe Content Pack or individual piece of content separately.

DiRT Rally 2.0 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC now.

Not complaining about their business model.

But honestly don't trust if this is indeed decent step up in simulation.

Not going to buy new simrallying title each year that is not too much different from one another, and perhaps even worse at something.

Better just make one good title with little content and continuously push it to the limit. And make money from it by selling a lot of DLC packs.

You pay yer money yer takes yer choice... as people have mentioned the bigger software houses have been doing this for years - Season Passes for DLC or pay for X version upfront and you will get Y and Z.(Like COD and Battlefield). Even Project Cars 1 and 2 did something similar. Whilst I can see an argument that they are releasing stages from a previous game as DLC, for me I want a rally game that has some of the classics in it like Monte Carlo and Finland - so if they have revamped and improved on them from the previous game then I'm happy to pay for it and eventually get 12 locations in the one game.

So raceroom is the game for you.

If you haven't bought it yet, buy the deluxe edition from CD keys as it's $40 cheaper than steam...it will help soften the disappointment lol

I spent a good week and a bit just playing Dirt convincing myself nah it's not as bad as most say it is, and admit I had some fun along the way.

Than I fired up my go to sim for RallyX and quickly realized how bad Dirt Rally actually was.

They need a big patch before dlc comes, but after hearing Codies response to the ffb issues, I'll admit I am a bit skeptical that they will be able to fix or improve it....hopefully they can cause it's current state is just bad compared to other titles.[/QUOT

For guys who owned Accuforce the ffb is fix via Sim commander Foundation FFB!We just lucky to have this great option to switch off game ffb and get better from telemetry direct raw signal!

Jeez people are pathetic. Codemasters will be thrown at the lions nomatter what they do. Theres no winning there. Look at the business plans for all the other developers for Christs sweet sake. They ALL are in it for money. Get real folks.

Assetto Corsa did LOTS of dlc's and it was all uhh and ahh and fantastic and great.

But if Codemasters does NOT make dlc's its "not enough content, they gave up on us" and when they DO dlc's its "Greedy Codema$$$ters"

And if Paul as much as HINTS that tvis could actually be an okay game, he instantly gets accoused of being paid off by devs for writing a good review.

Why dont you guys get a dog you can kick around instead?
Why would I kick a dog? Poor thing. It's not the dogs fault Codemasters aren't subtle enough with their greed.

The game released on Feb 26th, and the first DLC comes out March 12th - thats exaclty two weeks after release, and the DLC is just content they already had in the first Dirt Rally and just cut out for the 2nd installment, and there will be a DLC release every two weeks from now until the end of may. That's not a need to make money as a business, that's just blatant unsublte greed.

Btw, just to bring it up because you mentioned it, Assetto Corsas first DLC release 3 months after the v1.0 release, after the game was in EA for about a year, and it brought all new content, including the very first version of a laserscanned Nordschleife in any game + 10 cars. That's why it was uhh and ahh and fantastic and great and why people saw it as a means to keep the business running. That's one DLC for a game that cost 35 Euros in the time Codemasters will be releasing 6 DLCs for a game that costs 55 Euros (or 75 with the DLCs already included).

Glad I only bought the standard version on sale for 50% off, as that's about what it's worth in its current state.

At least it supports TrackIR & Motion Platforms (telemetry output)....but that FFB...or lack thereof is really an immersion killer.
How could they have possibly messed up on such a critical component for the genre???

It's up to Codie's to fix the FFB, and even if they stripped it out of the main game before launch already had all of this DLC in the can ;), it's not very good optics to be releasing it before patching what is fundamentally broken upon release.
Sure, they have to for the Deluxe Edition buyers, but the broken FFB issues seem to be affecting most players with a wheel, regardless of brand.

Hopefully they'll fix the FFB issues soon (really soon!), VR actually happens (they could do a 180 and pull the plug, it wouldn't really shock me), otherwise I'll just cut my losses and move on.
As a whole, the game itself is quite good, hopefully they feel the same and bring it up to snuff and make it the sequel which DiRT Rally deserves.

I wonder how Oculus will feel if Codie's hands them a game with broken FFB for them to work on for the VR development?
Especially after most likely funding it and knowing their target audience will be sim racers with the appropriate hardware.

Stock up on the popcorn!

I agreed with you that ffb is broken but I have accuforce and sim commander have now plugin for dirt rally 2 and now we can feel the surface and slides!feel sorry for all other brands owners!

I am still annoyed that they release DLC under a month after the release of the base game.
Such a shameless cash grab. It's nice that you mention it because it's basically just sweeped under the carpet these days. Kunos were absolutely wonderful in this regard it felt like they almost didn't want to charge, they could have doubled the DLC costs for AC and it would still be a bargain in comparison.

So I tried the game out.

After all the debate about whether FFB is broken or not, well after playing on a T300RS, it certainly felt broken to me. FFB was almost completely absent, (only center aligning torque was coming through on my wheel).
In 2019, and after CM proved they can get FFB at least somewhat acceptable (DR 1.0), to release DR 2.0 in its current state, basically is two fingers to their customer base .

I'm pleased I showed some self -control and resisted the temptation to buy DR2.0 (i really wanted to love this game) Instead, i am left disappointed again by CM, but at this stage, not surprised...

The annoying thing is, as i played DR2.0, the game did seem to have "most" of the right components in place to make it a great rally game, but it has been left unfinished/Broken (whatever label works for you!). However, even if a patch is released to fix the FFB, I am still reluctant to support CM anymore. While the game has some nice improvements, it showed me nothing ground breaking from my 2 hours or so with the game, especially in the area it matters most: actual rally driving!

The most pleasing news in Sim Racing (for me at least!) would be if Studio 397 or Kunos announced a Rally Sim for their next project. Rally fans are being starved for something new and worthy of being called a Rally sim. We are tired of paying AAA prices for half-baked games containing recycled content.

DR 2.0, Magnum Opus my ass...

what honestly bothered me more then what the dlc content is is the stages we get first wich all are hugely tarmac well except for sweden but i hated that stage anyway, also personally I would have instantly bought the dlc if we got whales or finland for example, it would make more sense even as they know of the problems they have with tarmac and this does not imply they intend to fix it at all if u ask me. And i find it offensive in a way that porting their tracks is concidered'dlc' i bought dirt rally day 1 of early acces and i know there's many who did the same. This is their way of saying thank u i guess (concidering their games where in a sad state from dirt 2 till dirt rally was released)

You mean we have to pay for tracks we already baught? Makes you appreciate the developers who give you such content for free with the next title. I already paid for Monte Carlo and i have already driven it. Now i get the chance to pay for it again and drive it again. Great stuff.
