Hi there,

Trying to setup a dedicated server locally on a PC for a session with friends.
Server manager app has been set up, ports also, firewall, anti-virus too. Response from AC Master server - OK.

Fixed it by also adding the HTTP port (8081) on port forwarding, putting both protocols (TCP and UDP) on it, so even if it doesn't say HTTP per say, it doesn't matter, you need to port forward both the TCP and UDP ports (9600) and the HTTP port (8081) anywayz, then it will work.

even though i am trying to connect to a server a friend of mine made,and is literally irl walking distance from me i checked my internet multiple times and well i had good performance in usual still dont understand

Not sure what changed, I changed nothing after giving up previously, but when I tried again yesterday, suddenly it was working and others were able to see my server also. I'm using the Loop-Back function with Xfinity modem/router, and CM 1.46

We just upgraded our internet and got a new router, and I'm having this issue. I've gotten it to the point where I can see and join the server over LAN, but only see it and not connect over the internet. I've opened what I thought were the right ports, the same ones we had on our previous router, but still no luck.

Have you tried setting up a Loop Back Ethernet network connection. That way tyou will not be trying to look at the server on the same network as you want to play on.

Hi all,

same problem: i see my server on my external IP but unable to join.

for instance as seen in CM:
90.44.226.88:8081

just to confirm two things:
the need of a Loopback interface for you to join your own server (LAN)
for instance as seen in CM:
192.168.1.10:8081

and of course the ports forwarding configured for your IP on the local network (LAN) in your router.
How to find these ports:
AC Server Manager - Settings - HTTP Port: - etc...
for instance 8081 in my example
if not, error in CM:
• Can’t load any information: server did not respond in given time.

About AC UDP/TCP default port 9600:
When the port forwarding is not configured for UDP/TCP 9600 i got this message:
• Internal error: an error occurred while sending the request
(When PF 8081 configured and server listed in CM when i try to join)

to summarize:
- mandatory for external users be able to join your server: ports forwarding according to
AC Server Manager - Settings - HTTP Port: - etc...
- mandatory for you to join your own server (choose the local IP not the external IP):
the point above plus the Loopback interface configured with your external IP
with a standard mask 255.0.0.0

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I this thread doesn't really have a 'solution' so I thought I would share my experience so others might be able to benefit.

These are the things I had to do to get my dedicated server working:

Port forward TCP and UDP ports for the server through my router. I used 9600 but I don't think it actually matters what the port is so long as it matches what you are using in the the server manager.
Port forward both TCP and UDP ports for HTTP. Again can be anything but must be consistent with the server manager.
Allow acServer.exe through the firewall and create inbound and outbound rules. I set these rules for all connections and all ports with separate rules for UPD and TCP.

It should work after that but I ran into a few issues that needed to be resolved and it looks as though others have run into these also.

When forwarding your ports you are assigning the ip address of the computer running the server. If your router cant tell you the ip address you can retrieve it using ip config (I won't go into this but it there are plenty of articles showing how to do this). An issue I had is that my router had been turned off and reassigned a new ip address to my computer so the port forward no longer worked. Check for this, it could explain why it would suddenly stop working.

Installation of the AC dedicated server is a bit convoluted (download from steam and copy to /assettocorsa/server or similar, etc). This made it difficult to determine exactly where the file acServer.exe was running from. On my computer it is running from /assettocorsa/server but the version of the executable I allowed through the firewall was in the folder Assetto Corsa Dedicated Server. Once I fixed this everything worked as intended.

Hope this helps people having trouble in the future.

Hi, I was having the same problem. I just clicked on "start server" and didn't close the black Windows window that pops up after that. I refreshed the server and I could play without problems.

I hope it is the same for you guys.

What worked for a friend of mine is changing the http LAN host to his IPv4 address instead of the IPv4 address of the router. In general just check if the all the port forwarding settings are right AND you have the ports opened in your windows/anti-virus software firewall otherwise it won't work.

Very strange. Mine was the opposite. Reload in CM did nothing. I had to open the a server manager and update server content.

Hi guys look at your windows firewall rules there are blocking rules for public profile, you need to disable them. And I think you need to add rules for incoming and outgoing udp and tcp traffic for the http tcp udp ports configured on your server.
