Week 7 - Track Design Competition
(why are they called weeks? These things usually take about a month each...)
Err, anyway...
Rules
1. The track must fit within the designated "theme". Any tracks that are too far away from the theme may be disqualified.
2. You may only use real tracks or locations as a base for your design if it is allowed (for this round, you must use a real location, but not a real track)
3. Unless otherwise stated, your track must be a circuit that would be suitable for "normal" racing cars (open-wheel, GT, etc.); no point-to-point races, dirt tracks, oval tracks...
4. You can use any kind of software, image format, diagram, etc. to make your track as long as it is easily readable.
5. All designs must be sent by PM. Any designs posted in the thread without permission will be disqualified.
(If you have any questions about the rules, please ask!)
Theme: The airport circuit is one of the oldest concepts in motorsports: where better to have a race than somewhere that already has long, flat, paved straightaways? While some airport circuits like Silverstone no longer use the actual runways, some like Cleveland, St. Petersburg (both in the US), and the famous Top Gear test track still do. Your challenge is to make an airport circuit that takes place on the runways.
Notes
1. You may not use an airport that has had racing on it before.
2. As usual, a small amount of track may be added by you, but most of the circuit must use existing runways. If you have any questions, please PM me.
3. "Runways" also includes taxiways, the area near gates, service roads, etc.
Deadline: Tuesday, April 26 (2 weeks from now), at 11:59 PM GMT. Send tracks using PM!
