Week 6 - Track Design Competition
Rules
1. The track must fit within the designated "theme". Any tracks that are too far away from the theme may be disqualified.
2. You may only use real tracks or locations as a base for your design if it is allowed (for this round, it is partially required; see the theme)
3. Unless otherwise stated, your track must be a circuit that would be suitable for "normal" racing cars (open-wheel, GT, etc.); no point-to-point races, dirt tracks, oval tracks...
4. You can use any kind of software, image format, diagram, etc. to make your track as long as it is easily readable.
5. All designs must be sent by PM. Any designs posted in the thread without permission will be disqualified.
(If you have any questions about the rules, please ask!)
Theme: For those that don't already know, a "roval" is a track that contains both road and oval layouts. There are many in the US, of course, but there are also some around the world, such as
Rockingham in England or the
Lausitzring. Your challenge is to
take a track that is not already a roval, and make it into one. This can involve either adding a road course to an existing oval, or adding an oval to an existing road course.
Notes
1. The track may not already have both a road course and oval. If they are completely separate (i.e.
Tsukuba), it's OK.
2. Once you are done, the oval and road course must share some track; no
Twin Ring Motegi, for example.
3. An "oval" is defined as any track where all of the substantial turns are in one direction.
Deadline: Thursday, March 10 (2 weeks from now), at 11:59 PM GMT. Send tracks using PM!
