Week 5 - Track Design Competition
Rules
1. The track must fit within the designated "theme". Any tracks that are too far away from the theme may be disqualified.
2. You may only use real tracks or locations as a base for your design if it is allowed (for this round, you must use a real location as your basis)
3. Unless otherwise stated, your track must be a circuit that would be suitable for "normal" racing cars (open-wheel, GT, etc.); no point-to-point races, dirt tracks, oval tracks...
4. You can use any kind of software, image format, diagram, etc. to make your track as long as it is easily readable.
5. All designs must be sent by PM. Any designs posted in the thread without permission will be disqualified.
(If you have any questions about the rules, please ask!)
Theme: Several street races around the world take place not on the traditional city streets or country roads, but on modern freeway interchanges. For an example, see the
Omnitel 1000km [two separate links]; there are others, but unfortunately I cannot find them right now. Your challenge is to make a track just like that one, in other words, to
make a track that uses freeways and their intersections.
Notes
1. Your track must use at least two separate freeways; no AVUS-type tracks...
2. You may add a small amount of additional road, like in Week 3, but no building a whole new track
3. It is recommended, but not required, that you make the track using roads somewhat near where you live
Deadline: Monday, February 7 (2 weeks from now), at 11:59 PM GMT. Send tracks using PM!
