The Codemasters F1 media channel have released three new videos of the upcoming Formula One 2016 video game, set for release on Xbox, Playstation and of course, PC.

The footage is primarily to do with hyping up not only the game but the new European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan due to take place this weekend. A controversial race not only for it's residing country's human rights record, but also because for the first time a Formula One race will clash with motorsports' biggest race: The Le Mans 24 Hours.

Whilst 'Tilkedromes' haven't gotten the best rap for producing exciting racing, this one actually looks very challenging and rewarding to drive. There are several undulation changes, a good mix of high and low speed corners and of course you cannot go past that massive - and I do mean massive - pit-straight: over two kilometres of full throttle.

The first video features both Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull Racing and Jolyon Palmer of Renault F1 talking about the new track and describing how F1 2016 has helped to prepare them for the coming race.

The second video features a commentated lap from Jolyon Palmer onboard his Renault F1 car from this season.

The final video provides us with Daniel Ricciardo's take on the circuit via (you guessed it) an onboard video.
Whilst much of the drivers testimonials are simply a means of marketing the game, the Codemasters F1 series can be helpful, at most, for learning the general layout of tracks. The reality is that the teams with their own in-house simulators will have access to a much greater amount of information regarding the Baku circuit than any publicly available video game could possibly provide. Rest assured, F1 2016 will not render Jolyon Palmer or Daniel Ricciardo more prepared than any other driver on the F1 grid.

Perhaps more importantly, Codemasters have left the details of the games' release date to the very end of the video; August 19th for UK customers. As for the players in other countries, well it's not known yet.

Do you like what you have seen so far with F1 2016? Will you be purchasing it on day one, or will you be waiting for user reviews? Let us know!

Edit: Pretty sure their first E3 vid showed the camera angle you're looking for, that said why in the world would you want to drive like that?
Where's that video then ?
And I just love... I watch the races all the time with those angles, not from drivers eyey point (right?) and.. I just love it. It makes me feel like almost watching real race, dunno, I guess my imagination is low so can't persuade myself that I REALLY got a chance to drive real F1 car.
And, don't worry about the way I drive it, except the fact that I'm not the only one, we NEED those angles if nothing at least for replays, the way it's now it really doesn't look like real T-cam.

Not same camera. CM always had Central T-cam and real T-cam. That clearly is central.
I know.. but if you don't remember, the "real T-cam", or the "offset" onboard cam in F1 2015 game isn't much better than this "central".
Looking at this 2016 "T-cam", I'm quite sure their offset cameras will also be way.. "offset". =P
If nothing, they really MUST tilt the cam DOWN. Not to mention the rest wrong angles and wrong FOV.

Yeah, that's better! Thanks for link, didn't see that.
But... the modder in me :whistling: doesn't give me a break and I must say... still ..not so perfect. :D
Real T-cam has lower FOV, camera is tilted more down, etc...
Here, you be the judge:

This time very same cam, and same car.

Edit:
Also... their weather system is so... obsolete.
We can choose 1) dry, 2) wet and 3) dynamic. And this is year after year - nothing changes.
So we can have 1) dry, 2) wet or 3) waiting what could happened.

They really should take a quick look at Project Cars and even oldie rFactor 2, how they solve this. You can have any type of race track you wish.
I really enjoy (am I the only one?) when track is wet but getting dry slowly.
Interesting and cool to watch. Hell even Milestone have this in their MotoGP series ! lol
Which btw should be out ...today !?!
Omg, I better go check it out now. :O_o:

Then Baku on its own is a beautiful city for tourism, architecture, culture, nightlife, music, among others.
It's not, this whole country should be boycotted by the FIA with such a dictatorial directive regime in place but as too often with the FIA they choose the side of caviar diplomacy / dollars.

As beautiful as Baku and Azerbaijan might be I will for sure never visit it.

Don't understand why Codemasters picks this circuit to kick off their marketing campaign.

So it ties in with the real event, because the race is on this weekend.

I'll probably get this but the first time I hit a wall at 200+mph & & the resultant damage model produces nothing more than a broken front wing, the game will go in the bin. Also if the magic faeries are employed this year to 'vanish' cars & debris mysteriously off the track in 5 seconds...there is no need for it considering what can be achieved in environmental immersion these days by a competent dev team.

And hopefully none of this nonsense:

I won't be touching this. Bought every one before this and every one has had a major problem some where at launch. I've not been able to do one corner in F1 2015 because of the left hand lock and full brakes bug.

I real hoped it was just something that was easily fixed, but I've installed windows, game, drivers etc, many times and the bush is there every time.

I think I'll keep my money in my account this time. They can go swing.

Good title for people that enjoy stunnig graphics. In the end it always will be a console clone. So i pass.

I hope in upcoming interviews someone puts the following to Codemasters.

Now that Microsoft will be bringing titles to PC with additional graphical elements to give PC gamers what they want in achieving a visual experience beyond consoles and not in just higher resolutions.

What will Codemasters be offering and how much longer will they limit pushing their own technical abilities beyond producing titles graphically offering what the consoles can handle.
