AC Classic Cars: Ford v Ferrari v Porsche at Daytona - Tuesday Nov 14

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Even though the P330 is much faster, I decided to sigh up with the GT40, because I love it and Jason is always a fast driver to have a good challenge with.

Thanks for being a good sport Reik. I feel the same way about the GT40 and I was tempted to go with it, but I drove that one for the last Ford v Ferrari event we did at historic Laguna so I wanted to try the Ferrari this time. Plus, I'm not a fast driver so I wanted to be able to at least have a chance at keeping up with the pack.

Both you and Jason are fast, as is Robert, so the GT40s should give the Ferraris a good run for the money!

Unfortunately i haven't been feeling good all day so not sure if i'm going to make it yet but i will try to join practice and see how it goes.
sorry to hear, hope you can make it... maybe try drinking a couple of cups of tea with double bags of earl grey and see if that gets you going... :coffee: either way, take care of yourself.

Nice racing guys. Those cars are such a pleasure to drive. Beautiful too. I think the 60s era cars may be my favorites.

Funny, I noticed the top 4 positions were the same in both races. Congrats to the podium finishers and especially to Ernie for taking 1st in both races. As I mentioned, that seems like a nice consolation after being tortured by that Porsche at Le Mans.

Shout out to Jason for being a trooper and still participating while feeling under the weather. Thanks for your participation all, catch you on the next one!

I like driving the GT40.

For the first laps of Race 1 it felt nice to be chased by Robert and Ernie in their P330s. But I think they just enjoyed watching my nice car's back for a while before "eating" me on the straight eventually.

In Race 2 I had some nice battles with Jason.

Thanks for hosting this one Dominic!

2 unfortunate things yesterday 1, i just wasn't all there and 2, I have never been good around daytona. both together left me struggling and overdriving the car. Towards the end of race 2 i finally found where the time was but it was far to late plus i ran out of fuel a lap early some how.

A big thanks to Reik for waiting for me... a few times. maybe i will give you a better battle next time.

Yes, I love driving those cars too - both the 330 P4 and the GT40. But I think I still prefer the GT40. Anyway, it's my pleasure. That's why I volunteer to set these events up! And thank you again for taking part.

Yes, in both races it was interesting to see two battles going on: up in front, Ernie and Robert in the Ferraris trading places, and then followed by you and Jason in the Fords going back and forth. I imagine if we were all in Ferraris or in Fords you guys would have had a much closer race. Maybe for the next time I'd like to try a race with GT40s only, at a track TBD...

ahh that explains why you were parked in the infield on the last lap... i was wondering what happened, then got distracted and missed the braking point.... face-palm...

thanks again for toughing it out, seems like you were still giving Reik a run for his money..
