AC CANCELED Fat-Alfie Championship Abarth/Mazda@Bilster Berg, Wed 4th October 2023

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I updated my SOL installation, and then I was able to login to the server, so everything's fine now
Thanks for giving me the idea!
Great! To which version did you do the update. So I can put that in the thread.

Is that the payed one? I think I have 2.2.8 but I'm not at my computer now.
No, I downloaded the latest one from RD, it was released in June.

It's also possible that I had acccidentally installed PURE with the batch file that also uninstalls SOL.. I didn't think of checking that before reinstalling. And now that I think about it, I think that's the more probable explanation.
In which case I'd find it a bit funny that SOL is needed, because Watkins race worked perfectly with PURE.

EDIT: But I guess it does make it more simple to define the requirements this way.

Well I think SOL is needed for weathertransactions and night rides but maybe not for dawn/dusk. Strange is that I had these checks also for Watkins in the configuration.

Anyone else getting a checksum error or just me? I was able to join collins server with the same track but with alfa and escort fine.

Reinstalled the track twice

will try reinstalling sol. Uninstalled it recently when the last Pure update said sol was no longer needed.

Odd too because I also only had pure active for Watkins and that worked no problem.

Will try sol again though

I also had the pit-exit issue, got kicked, tried Colin’s trick, worked, so I could put in some laps. Not ideal.

But I hate that ‘low sun-fase’ in the sped up time. I like the visuals, but I can hardly see the turns. Takes some of the fun out for me. Putting sunglasses on won’t help  .

Hey guys, i think the issue is that although Pure takes over from Sol for the textures it is still in use as a weather planner. As has been said, as long as sol planner is the latest version it should be ok.

So far my trials amounted to:

Kicked from server: three times

teleport and controls locked: four times:

after selfteleporting into pit after AI kill my Mazda was broken, it jumped like a Pogo Stig.
Restart race, restart CM, restart PC did not solve it, the Pogo Stig showed on and offline.
A few server laps with the Abarthination solved that problem but made me a little queezy.

Also Han, can you confirm that the timing reversal on the first valid lap does affect the race positions on the server?

I think at this point we can agree that this mod is buggy as hell. A shame, but I´m not shure that we should race there .

Latest version of Pure doesn't use Sol Planner anymore, it now has its own Pure Planner. Pure install instructions now recommend uninstalling Sol, and I think this is why many Pure users now have to reinstall Sol to get into the server.

Guys,

Apart from the pitlane leaving and the checksum problems, does anyone else have the same problems as Carsten describes?

@JamKart22 How did your race go on Bilster Berg?

We had no issues in the race and I don't believe it was that bad in Quali or practice. It odd how it effect some people and not others. It's probably a combination of the track and maybe graphics setting?

Maybe make the championship 5/7 so if folks get binned from Bilster Berg then it won't be too serious.

Most curious thing is that I have no graphics problem whatsoever.

I also didn´t notice any FPS drop in Watkins Glen which is probabaly due to the fact that my PC has a comfortable performance overhead.

(My limit is normaly 110 FPS with the potential for 150FPS)

I´m not against using Bilster Berg, Colins idea would mitigate any fallout if things go sideways.

BTW, do me solid and call out the german corner names in a practice session.
I´ll be rolling out of my rig laughing :p

No pit exit problem for me, unless having briefly shown "wrong way" counts as one. I've always gotten out of the pits though.
No graphical problems or FPS drops either, but that doesn't really surprise me. I have set FPS limiter to 90, but could easily get 180-190 FPS on most tracks if I felt like it.

Just a personal thought and this goes for Hans championship as well. Why not ditch this track from the points completely. (Not really a classic Fat Alfie track anyway is it???) Even David would probably agree i would imagine.

Well, the track itself is. I've tested a beta version (with 16 pitstop spots) of David and the track is the same. But the other guys have changed things like the pitlane.

But if there are much more participants who want to discard this race, I can remove it from the championship and set up another nice track as a single event.

So please respond in this thread if you want to leave out Bilster Berg from the championship.

Steve has point here.

Not only because of the bugs of the mod, but also because of it´s unforgiveness.
This is really rewarding when you get it right but will kill you and the guys around you when you miss your line by one foot.
Not sure everybody here has the time and dedication to practice untill they´re safe in trafic...

I´m not even shure that there have been actual races at Bilster Berg, I only know of track days and customer events.

And blatant missjudgement from Han:

H. Tielke does not possess the capability nor dedication to design such a wonderfully devious track. Just check Bilster Berg against modern Sachsenring and you´ll see.
We all know who who masterminded the construction of this roller coaster.
(hint: he started his career in Rally and is now Porsche brand ambassador.
At Nürburgring (new) paddock I saw his autograph on the front cowl off a 991.)

Edit:

the beta version uses the right (side) pit boxes, it works fine
