Of course ill add these cameras to next update. And credits will be given . Thanks

Ps im also working as we speak on reducing the Dip for this track. Irs coming down slowly as i reduce the amount of materials. (This is a unfortunate situation with rfactor2 conversions)

Anyhow. This is a gereral general question. The dip values really dont have any effect on my performance unless its above say 5000. Is this because i have a medern gpu. I suppose what im asking is are the dip values linked to gpu memory ? Sorry for the noob questions but if any one can elighten me.

I think i know what the issue is. Like i said ill get this sorted with a new texture.

I tried somthing i have never played with in the kseditor before. I shifted the rgb values of the texture to help it blend in the ksgrass shader better.

Very strange that it would only affect some people. Anybody else have the same issue
Yeah don't do that. You need to tweak the texture colors outside the editor. Never ever touch those values in the editor.

As for DIP it is a CPU thing. And with a single car you won't notice it much. But when you load it up with AI is when it will cause the CPU warning message. With a single car in cockpit view and single screen 2000 should be your max. Under 1000 is even better but it may be tough to get there.

Terra21 updated Cadwell Park with a new update entry:

1.2

  • Fixed Issue with hole in terrain (Final Corner)
  • Added Brand new high resolution terrain map, Ground colors and grass looking more natural (Sorry for the change again, i just wasn't happy with how it looked before.
  • Fixed 3D Grass color issue - replaced texture and adjusted shader to be super subtle, to get better coverage i will need to plant way more grass - but this is a time issue, i think it looks pretty good as it is, but let me know what you think
  • New Camera's added...

Read the rest of this update entry...

I think this is much improved. DIP is at an acceptable level now. This now is up there as one of the top conversions in my opinion. Just goes to show if you put the time and effort into a conversion it can be worth while. I wish more would take this route with quality over quantity when it comes to conversions. It doesn't have to be a negative thing.

As an end user, I appreciate LilSki taking the time to advise and encourage and Terra (and others) listening and cooperating and accepting his knowledge and experience in making the conversions as good as they can be. Thank you to all concerned.

Thanks everyone for the nice words. Ive really got it in my head now that I want to get as many british tracks as i can up to this standard. If terras up for it?. I really want to look at croft. Are there any good versions out there. Or do we start from scratch. Hmmm research begins

Wel I know these are the Britisch tracks on Racedepartment. All have different states as to how they are made / converted.

Thruxton, Scratch made, author is still working on it but it already is a nice track to drive:

Donington Park, Scratch made. Best britisch mod track there is if you ask me:
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/donington-park.3031/

Knockhill, Conversion, has some updates on it to make it better. It runs prety good but could use some work to make it up to standards:
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/knockhill-racing-circuit.8513/

Snetterton, Conversion, runs pretty good but still not really on par with the standard AC tracks.
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/snetterton-2011.7327/

Rockingham, Scratch made, nice start to build it but not finisched yet. Not sure if the author is still working on it.

Baskerville, Scratch made, good track which runs well. Not sure if the author is still working on it.
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/baskerville-raceway.3436/

Goodwood, Conversion, looks like a quick conversion. Track has holes and other issues. Needs lots fo work to get to AC standards.
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/goodwood-motor-circuit.2904/

Croft, Conversion, looks like a quick conversion. Track has holes and other issues. Needs lots fo work to get to AC standards.

Thats as far as the Britisch tracks go I think.

OK then Looks like whe have a plan, full BTCC 2017 Calendar, lets see if we can get these updated before actual race dates, anybody else interested in this? id love to set up a small league for this with the BTCC car mods out there.
Green Tracks = Already good to go
Red = Let see!!!!

The layout of Cadwell is just great, and this mod really delivers. I can drive on and on, it never gets boring.
Thank you guys for this!
One note: start lights always being green are a little bit odd at race start

nice update. still much darker than kunos tracks but not the end of the world i suppose, these pics taken with exact same static exposure to show the difference:

in my opinion tracks should try and aim to be consistent in their shader levels etc so that the weather sets/ppfilters work in a similar manner for any track

Noted buddy. Yeah i have a tendancy. To shy away from over saturated over exposed look. Its a fallout from my professional work. I create photoreal renders for a lot of big horrible corporate company's, architecture, stage shows and what not. They are always asking for punchier images. Which usually means darker and more contrast .

Fair, just seems that this is probably the job of the ppfilter so you get consistent results between all tracks

Very much looking forward to beng able to tear ass around this storied and venerable English track. As mainly a keyboard driver, I'm also quite nervous as to how narrow it is; today Cadwell would be (and frequently is!) considered a bike track!
