Breaking News: Slightly Mad Studios Bought by Codemasters

pcars 2 rallycross physics are the best we can have, Dirt rally 2.0 is the best about rally, can you imagine Dirt rally 3 with the pCars 2 physics ?

I hope in this way more than pCars 3 with the Dirt rally 2.0 physics......

Why do people on facebook and few on here believe that this is a 'partnership' thing..it isn't. SMS is sold, to codemasters...end of, codies don't need to use the SMS brand as they are bigger, hence the buyout!!

And also why think that codies have done this get SMS's physics? Really?? You don't buy a dev for that you pay their physics guys more and get them to move... Like say Man City buying barcelona to get Messi....

Ian Bell either wants to cash in...or codies spotted a dev in trouble and have purchased it for a snip to asset / talent strip.....
SMS is gone....you don't get to sell your company and still trade as that company...

Absolutely no way that codies will ever brand any game project cars......no way. Whether they have any contract in place that Ian Bell can't make any racing games in the next few years who knows...

But this is no merger, no partnership, no "hey lets work together and share licences..."
SMS is gone the same as Blimey! and any number of devs that sold out...
Bye.

Looking forward to the Hype videos on YT by Andy Tudor for whatever game:p

Anyway go see Ford vs Ferrari/Le Mans 66....it's awesome!!

Look, at the pit entry pull at the end of this video, from the F1 2019
It`s like this since 2010! Everybody complained every single year in the official foruns and said that this is just ridiculous! No response. No changes.

This is made by a team that doesn't care.
The Codemasters team for this game, should be ashamed and should do a reality check.
LACK OF TALENT. Lack of attention to detail, lack of effort.

So the mix between SMS and Codemasters is a beautiful 0. Null.

Please - show us these "facts". This ought to be good for a laugh...
  • iRacing is known to be "iceRacing" and every iteration they claim it is the most realistic ever ...
  • Look at the comparison video by Nicki Thiim, Porsche Cup Car, iRacing (v6 tire model) vs AC vs R3E
  • Look at what David Perel recently said in a video - he was driving (stock and modified setup) the Ferrari GT3 (the same he drives irl) - same comment, totally unrealistic snap oversteer where it really shouldn't be and he said he couldn't fix it with setup
  • (Not sure if it still is an issue) a few years back there was a video out there, showing off a equally weight distributed / setup built road car - he drove left, understeered, he drove right, oversteered - that is just bs and shouldn't be in a sim where most people invest >600$ over 2 years+
  • Oh, don't forget, there is a physics bug, where under certain braking conditions, the physics go nuts and the car just snaps to death - this bug is btw. in since 1997 (since iRacing uses an engine that originally was developed in 1996/97).

And what facts do you bring to the table? Or are you just a bully because you have no arguments against it?
Pretty well known in the sim racing community that iRacing has the worst tire model.

It is not a merger though is it. Codies have purchased them for a bargain price.
Codies have purchased a dev and all it's people and IP i assume...
Why would codies wan to try to sell PC3??

They could simply asset strip, so people tech etc etc. I imagine part of any deal would be to keep Ian Bell well away from the the codemasters brand with his bullshit.
He'll walk away with millions and be back crowdfunding for "the best sim ever!!!" in 2020...

I'm pretty sure that transaction comes with a non-compete clause for a couple of years, unless CM want to hire Bell.

I bought into the original Project Cars at a modest level and never regretted doing so. Missed doing the same with PC2 but have always thoroughly enjoyed it.
As for Ian Bell.....if you ignored him all was OK.
Sad he's sold out to Codemasters, I really dislike their releases so unless Bell has something untoward in his stash I won't be opting for any variation of PC via Codemasters.

Most sim racers believe that racing cars do have no grip, hence why iRacing was such a good fit for them.
I think they like rfactor 2 have addressed this issue though? Hell rfactor admitted that they had the tires wrong at least and now i can feel some grip there..
