Black screen mid race

I've had this once before when on a srs race that was something to do with joining through the app but tonight I've had this a few times playing single player

Anybody else had this?

Thats very generous of you Kek. This is the cable I use at the moment not sure if its good quality or not

Its strange how it just seems to occur randomly
Your product has these fancy description like all cheap, asian products on amazon have. On German Amazon they're in clear "google translator German" too.
But it's 1.4 apparently so probably not the cable...

If you feel like spending a little money on a good cable:

Kabeldirekt is a brand I only have good experiences with so maybe a good shot?
No fancy buyer luring description, just clean listing of specs. I like them :)

I have just replaced my psu for your reason plus my pc was also shutting of completely,
What with a over clocked cpu and a power hungry GPU I am assuming under max demand it was not happy..
Not for a moment suggesting you have the same, not sure If I have not replaced my psu erroneously but thought it may be worth a mention from your above statement. :)
replaced a 750w for 1200w bit of an overkill. But why mess about with a little hammer when a sledge hammer is available.

I'd expect the pc to shut down or at least the game to crash with overheating
I did a quick test with hwmon max temps gpu 79 cpu 74.

I might connect it to both monitors tomorrow and see if they both go off

I do not think mine was overheating, the PSU just could not keep up with demand.
So many variables in a PC, without the ability to
swap out components, makes it so difficult.

If it was me, I would start all over again, the problem does not seem to want to go away with a win10 update, etc, etc. get a good monitoring software, check every connection in the pc, run something like fire strike to really test the system as a job lot.

I am assuming you now have a 1.4 Dual port cable.

As your pc does not crash should be easier to go through all the parameters to look for anomalies.
Make sure you have the monitoring software updating as fast as possible, some one else may chime in with better advice on that front.

when I get back to my pc will find what I use, name escapes me at the moment, it’s free.

I stuck with the cable I was using as Rasmus said it was 1.4 and probably not that.

I'll unplug my vr and try a hdmi cable. Its tough to track down as it occurs so randomly

Thanks

Just been trying to make it happen both races where it was happening yesterday no problem today aaargh! I've got some bits to order from amazon this week so I'll get the cable Rasmus recommends

Checked the cable links again and I have to say your's might not be true dp 1.4.
The description says 4k 60 fps but my link to the kabel direkt 1.4 cable states 4k 120 fps which would be doubled the bandwidth...

Try to run your monitor with hdmi. Hdmi is more sensitive in my experience than dp so if the screen doesn't go black with it, it's your dp cable.
If the screen goes black with hdmi too, it might be your dp cable or a power related problem...
When I shut off my audio receiver, my TV goes blank for a tenth of a second when connected to my pc.
Absolutely no idea why but it wasn't there in my old apartment...
Also some sensitive led bulbs are flickering when I switch on my Audio receiver..
This apartment has some electricity issues. Nothing major but it might be similar with your black screen issues.

Maybe use a different wall socket for your monitor to test it?

Anyway back about cables: it might also be that it's the cable no matter the dp standard. With my monitor, some dp 1.2 cables work fine and so don't. No idea why but apparently there's some cable voodoo involved.

Getting the Kabel direkt do 1.4 4k 120 fps cable should 100% remove the cable from the list of possible reasons though :)

May not be related as to no one mentioned still being able to hear audio during the black screen situation. I found that when I download user recommended PPFilters I guess they don't always work with CSP 1.46 I have loaded. So in detail I loaded AC+2020 and I loaded Blackcelicas 2020 ACC PPfilter and I get complete black video during middle of gameplay. Game restart was the only method to fix issue.
