Welcome to the OT Racing Club.

A recently updated track from the excellent rainmaker mod creator. This old creation of Oulton park is a blast in this car.

We'll use the uprated version of the Tornado so you must install the performance data pack in order to get on the server - otherwise you'll get a checksum error. Just copy the files into your content/cars/dj_berta_tornado_sp directory.

It's worth getting on the server at least once before the race so you know you have the correct files installed.

There are also two excellent skin packs.

I guess that extra power in the version we're using is a bit too much for this track?

How about switching to the Ford Escort RS1600/Alfa GTAM for one race?

I've setup server4 with this combo so have a go and let me know what you think

Forget about it, both go AWOL into the shrubbery in the first corner, the GTAM over the first crest trench, the Escort over the second jump.

I still think the S800 would do nicely here.

It did in Donnington38

I have been testing with the Berta. Yes it is bumpy as hell but i did a new setup for it and it is fine.
Nothing to do with the power, it is better if you lift off a little when hitting the bumps. 1.32s without too much effort. Spring rate up, dampers down etc plus a less bumpy line on track helps. Come on MEN, lets show how tough we are :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Also, for those that could do with a nicer engine tone. We all have the RSS 70 F1 and i can confirm that it sounds great as a replacement for the lotus 49 engine tone especially if you drive manual and blip on the down change

I will join either way as long as i'm available. i was just giving my opinion which you should probably always ignore lol. I only did 3 to 4 laps without messing with the setup, so a ride height increase would help i imagine.

If we are going off piste what about a mix of 60's cars? Mustangs, Mini, Lots Cortina, E type etc?

Might make for an interesting change?

It´s an interesting idea, problem is that we´d need much bigger grids for that.
Unless you have at least 5 cars in every class or start nerfing the cars to ( assumed) similar performance also know as that friggin BOP bullshit, you´d have very lonely races.

One of my sons friends has a server set up where we just have a bit of fun, could be Porsche at Spa or BMW at Donnington, Open wheelers at the ring, or classics at Brands.

The biggest laugh and the closest racing is always the 60's cars. The E Type and Healey are way too fast. The TVR is undriveable but eh Mustangs, Cortina's and Mini's are pretty evenly matched - the short Mugella circuit is great as the Mini and Cortina dominate on the twists and the Mustang catches them top at the end of the main straight for the Cortina and Mini to then battle past by the second set of corners - rinse and repeat.

Could always make it a single make race?

Just a thought and don't want to take away from what you guys already have in place.

I just enjoy driving.

The bigger issue is that we are restricted on what mod cars we are 'allowed' to use on this platform.
Many of the historic cars mentioned are not available on the OT download pages. I have them all and there is nothing like setting up an Goodwood revival style meeting with a grid full of the 60's classics, sliding around flat out and trying to hang onto the skinny cross ply tyres.

We have had the odd Mini and Escort/Alfa races here and good fun they are too.
As for the BoP, power isn't everything..........................
