Automobilista has been updated and the Touring Car Classics DLC released!

Reiza Studios have updated Automobilista to build version 1.4.8 and released a new historic focussed DLC to the simulation, the trailer to which can be seen below:
The new update brings with it the usual number of fixes and improvements as the simulation draws ever closer to a finished state prior to Reiza commencing development of the next racing sim from the talented Brazilian studio.

Of particular interest should be significant improvements made around the way the AI interacts with the player in the new build.

Build Update Notes:

CONTENT
  • Added Brazilian Touring Car Classic series: Copa Classic, Copa Fusca, Copa Uno & Hot Cars (requires ownership of DLC or Season Pass)

UPDATES & FIXES
  • Fixed DynHUD on Win10 & re-enabled it by default as a config option
  • Fixed bug that could cause game to crash loading old setups with notes
  • Added support to latest Fanatec SDK
  • AI blue flag logic improved: AI cars now move offline to let leaders by, lift proportionally to the amount of throttle they should be doing, and to the speed difference relative to the car approaching
  • Increased rate AI assesses situations by 4x which should result in more appropriate behavior in several racing situations and less off-track excursions
  • Tweaked AI calculations when thinking about passing to reduce the swerving from one side of another car to the other (added AISuddenMoveScalar parameter to car physics, makes cars change lane, react to incidents more gradually)
  • Changed AI Start Behaviour to keep drivers running in a straight line from their grid slot more (added AIStartOffset and AIStartMerge values to car physics - these are how long to stay on the line and how long to merge in seconds)
  • Adjusted default talent values so that AI is better when there is no RCD file or values are missing
  • Rescaled AI aggression levels for latest code changes
  • Fixed possible crash with Season Tool
  • Added Season Tool option for double points in final race of the championship
  • Added regular silent messages by clients in multiplayer (as a possible fix for TCP connection lost issues with client inactivity)
  • Changed logic for "Finish Session" / "Skip Session" logic" - the first now accelerates time to finish the session with properly generated times from the AI, the second advances the session with the current standings (with player put in the back of the grid if not having set a time)
  • Adjusted tire smoke threshold so tires don´t generate smoke on smaller slides or in lock-ups of lightly loaded wheels
  • Added garage pitstop schedule menu to all cars when refuelling is allowed (hidden when it´s not)
  • Velopark: Fixed minor graphics glitches
  • F-Vintage: Fixed collision bug with wheels
  • Ultima GTR: Revised road car physics

GENERAL NOTES:

Logitech G29 / G920 users
: Support for auto rotation is still on a dedicated Beta Branch labeled v1.4.8_G29. Further instructions as to how to switch to a beta branch here.

every Reiza update we can put our hands on great cars or tracks with the certainty that the phisic or the details are awesome. The immersion in the cockpit is perfect for all cars. The tracks are detailed like was laserscanned. I run other racing games for fun, but when I spend my time in Automobilista, I have great sensation and pleasure. If we can have the real reflection on the cars and weather changable, we can have the heaven

Hopefully as soon as I get some happy little bucks in my wallet I'll be able to grab this and the Ferrari AC DLC. Then if the Reiza boys are kind enough to provide a template for the Fuscas, I'm tempted to make some skins of our Uruguayan Super Beetle cup. Not the same cars, of course, but close enough.

I swear if Reiza makes some of the cars or tracks down here in Uruguay I'll f*****g die. :x3::x3:

My father also had one in the early 80's. Needed a bit of bodywork. So when that was finished he painted the car with a paintroller by hand. Did not even look that bad from anything more than 5 meters away. Was a great simple car, compared to nowadays.
I must have hauled everything from bags of horse manure to £1500 loudspeakers in mine, amazing how much horse:poop: you could fit in the boot:D

I tried it for awhile over the weekend, and the different cars handle very differently, especially the bug. Been in a Formula Vee which seems to handle a little better than the Bug, but thats not surprising considering the much higher bug. Which is really tail happy at higher speeds. Makes for some very interesting racing though with all the different cars on track.
You won't break any records getting up to speed, but once you get up to speed there a lot of fun tossing them around.

Had a nice race with the Uno in Hockenheim. Felt really great and I think I should not longer spend my time with PCARS2... Handling of the Uno was great and what I think a FWD car should handle like and no strange feelings. There are just to many good games out there... hard to give them all the time / love they diserve.

But one question: The AI cars ran out of fuel in the race on the last lap. I had plenty left. How can I change their amount of fuel?

Getting the season pass for £11.99 was a master stroke. Still hadn't got over getting the base game for £6.99!!
Currently found myself really getting into AC finally, but AMS now i am really enjoying the FFB and general feel from it.
I think if it weren't for my sudden love affair with AC i'd be playing it more, i seem to find myself enjoying chunks at a time of the sims rather than flitting between them and its ACs turn right now.

Love the Classics, but it also seems to me that the Super V8's are better to drive. Not easy, but not so squirrley. Maybe I'm just getting used to them....great time running Mount Panorama over the weekend....in between watching the race and hurling the Bug around Cascavel.
