Hey Paul, I had the same 'crashdump' issue last night and I have the Steam version of GSCE.

If you have the Steam version then try this:
In the Steam Library right click on GSCE, select Properties, goto the Local Files tab and then select "VERIFY INTEGRETY OF GAME CACHE". Sometimes files disappear or become corrupted and if that's the problem with your game, then the necessary files should download and repair it.

... Would an Opala event be okay for you too? I like those cars much better, they are a lot less... heavy then the Camaro is, whilst still handling similarely (reliance on oversteer).
