Reiza Studios have some exciting news to share...

Somehow the little Brazilian development studio have managed to announce even more awesomeness in their latest roadmap release - confirming that the surprise (and epic) addition of Donington Park and Snetterton for Automobilista in the near future, some updates and additional content for the recent rFactor 2 'Reiza Pack' DLC and... confirming an announcement about the next racing title is very close indeed...

Hello everyone!

Time to break radio silence again to bring you some fresh news about what´s happening with Reiza and our projects over recent weeks and for the foreseeable future.

Reiza rFactor 2 Bundle - May Update
As previously announced, we´ve continued development of the rF2 content this month focusing primarily on development of the two additional Imola versions - the 1988 and 2001 layouts, which will be added free of charge to all who bought the Imola track or any pack that included it.

Below a couple of WIP previews - now the rF2 Mclarens will have some era-accurate official tracks to stretch their legs on..

There´s also been some work done elsewhere in the pack with further polishing and sorting a few remaining issues - more notably we have added the missing wet tire compound for the MCR S2000 and we are working on adding the turbo model to the Metalmoro cars that feature it.

With the possible exception of the turbos, these updates are due for release later next week.

Automobilista Final Update & DLC
Unfortunately are still struggling a bit to get this one worked out. Without going too far into licensing specifics, here´s a brief breakdown of where things stand at the moment:

Although we have for a while now held a licensing deal for some new cars for our next sim and already have them modelled and in-game, we jumped the gun with regards to extending their license agreement to Automobilista - despite continuing attempts we still haven´t quite managed to make the numbers work and it´s looking unlikely we will manage to, which may force us to pull the plug on releasing this particular pack in Automobilista.

If that scenario pans out however we have put together a good alternative - we are extending our licensing agreement with Motorsport Vision to include Donington Park and Snetterton, and in this one we would be able to release both tracks for Automobilista as part of the AMS Season Pack with no extra charge for those who already own that.

Development for both Donington and Snetterton is already in progress, and we should have them both ready by late July.

I understand such changes are never a good thing specially for something that was announced so long ago, hopefully most users agree this alternative is good value too.

Either way we are set on releasing one last set of premium content for Automobilista along with some minor bug fixing before the end of July.

There is one more thing...
Naturally most of you will be checking this more interested in hearing news about our much anticipated and long overdue new title.... I´m aware we have pushed everyone´s patience to the limit there but good things do come for those who wait :)

After a long, gruelling and sometimes painful conception we´re finally getting ready to unveil our new baby. Stay tuned for an announcement to be made in the coming days on our Social Media pages, which you can access from the links on the top right of this forum.

Once this is out of the way we should certainly have a lot more to chat about again, so look forward to us resuming our monthly update tradition from next month onwards!

I heard they bought the rights to the Enviro-Bear 2000 and are upgrading it to rf2 engine. I'd say it is about time. Has been a long time since we had a proper bear driving simulator on the market!

Since F1C days I just questioned why multiple graphics/physics engines was a good thing :ninja: .

No I don't think all sims should feel like "Brand X " but they should all feel the same otherwise realism is a pipe dream

Nope. Competition with multiple teams attacking realism in different ways eventually raises the tide for all boats faster than if everyone did the same thing. There is no magic to simulation, just continual improvement incremental updates. Some devs care about updating physics and FFB, others less so and focus on the flash and crash that unfortunately sells more copies. There are elements in many sims that could be combined to form a super-sim...but then 4 out of 5 companies would disappear and we'd be back to square one.

Marc, each studio would be free to develop finer points to suit themselves

They would all own engine and constantly develop the core as one company just like Unreal has ....

Same goes for car models so if 2 studios made series that cross over they would look, feel and drive the same ..............just like they do in real life

You would not have every Studio using GT3 ......what would be the point ? ;)

What do you think?
The palette all looks pretty similar, :p
Time of day in Reiza bridge shot might be a bit more in the afternoon as it has a slight yellow tint to it.

OMG OMG OMG :roflmao: New Reiza sim! Bring it!

Been just getting back into AMS big time, and noticing (once again) how excellent sim it is. The physics, the FFB... pure bliss. Sounds aren't too shabby too.

Graphics look fine to me, I take the sharp AA and clean, high FPS look over ton of effects that run badly any day. 2D trees don't bother me at all, they look great. I was able to mod the Reiza stick man spectators into less hideous looking ones (hint hint, mod is here in RD), so my only pet peeve with graphics was solved with that.

My only wishes for new Reiza title would be

- Dynamic weather
- Better AI collision detection (no more warping cars)
- Visual tyre flex + sparks
- VR support (not personally affected, but I know it's a big one)
- Adjustable 3D mirrors
- Better optimized night racing
- DX11 or DX12 or Vulkan
- Some animated track objects, for immersion
- Perhaps more extended dirt racing content, AMS basis is pretty solid but not many tracks

That's it really. Graphics are for the most part fine already

Looking forward to new tittle details but Donington and Snetterton, great news!. Love them both. Patrick already did and excelent job with Snetterton, i guess they'll take this as a base but i don't recall a Donington version in AMS.

With all those UK tracks it will be nice if they arrange some British competition license. BTCC seems impossible but maybe a minor league.

I'm glad, to read something new about Reizas work, finally some information about the problems, depending the empty McLaren Folder under "GameData/Vehicles/". ;) (I'm just guessing :D)

I'm totally fine with a "stock" Donington and Snetterton in AMS in exchange. At the moment, the Track Mods for these tracks are pretty fine, but it's not bad, to see Reiza owning the rights, to implement them by themselves.

AMS still just doesn't wanna stop giving me the best sim racing experience, of all titles. Now this is even more great for me to see, that Reiza finally reveal, that a new title is coming.^^

But i'm honest: (purely speculative, of course) i don't really want to see the new title on the rF2 base, when it comes to graphics. rF2 doesn't look good at all, in terms of track graphics, i find AMS way more "natural" for example. The sky in rF2 looks horrible with these mushy clouds and is a true immersion killer. Everything looks so "cartoony" there... :D
Physics wise, i have no doubt, that Reiza does its job absolutely great.^^
