ATCC - All Time Car Championship

Alltimer Grandtour (ATGT3, formerly ATCC3 - All Time Car Championship) is a gigamod, rather a completely new game based on GTR Evo engine.
It contains also some features from GTR2 that were unavailable in Race 07 / GTR Evo.
The game is a halfway between simulation and arcade. It means that the fun of driving and racing is more important than exact engine specifications. The original Race 07, GTR Evo, GTL, WTCC, STCC cars do not have modified physics, but other car engines could have been adjusted to fit the class they are in.

The game features completely new classes, not based on real racing events. The classes are based on production years and car power. The main classes are:
Race (passenger cars, mainly street and touring racing cars),
Race Pro (hotwired passenger cars, with power comparable to GT or even stronger, such as WTCC Extreme or DTM)
V8 - large passenger cars, street and racing with V8 or V12 engines
GT (GT cars including GT4, GT3, GT Club cars)
GT Pro (GT1 cars, GRID, LM prototypes and other very fast machines excluding Formula)
Formula (Formula Raceroom and Master)
Formula Light (lightweight racing cars such as Caterham or Radical).
SUV, Vans, Trucks and probably karts.

The game is a tribute to the history of home computers and consoles, classic racing games and the modding scene.

The UI is being modified to give the game an unique look, enable features that were hidden (or not active) in the original games - for example full screen car preview. Other features have been added or activated.
You can also run some classic 1980-199x games directly from the ATCC menu, and also GTR2 installed in a subfolder. These features have not been tested yet under various versions of Windows, screen resolutions and available graphic modes.

Version 3.3 update:

User Data folder is no longer located in Documents\SimBin\Race 07 install ##
It is created at the first run in Documents\AllTimerGT

More options in race settings, before start

!20221231_1749_more options before start.jpg

Experimental settings
The first slider works, changes Driver 1 to Driver 2
Slider 2nd driver control works, changes car control to AI
If you want to watch the track from a self-driving car,
set Driver: 2nd, Control: AI

Other sliders do not work without plugins, such as Companian.

Specialfx.tec is updated to display .dds textures, not .tga
All textures are in .dds format
Now it is visible how much we didn't see in the gameplay.
Too many sparks? It will be adjusted with the next update.

Returned to standard Race 07 shaders
Added shaders from rFactor that didn't exist in the GTR series.
Sometimes they work, sometimes not, but they will not crash the game.

T1 Lerp T2 Vertex Alpha
Not so detailed, but at least not all green or black material.

Bump Map T1 Lerp T2 Vertex Alpha
Looks bad. But it is still not researched what causes wrong display:
- 3DsimEd could mess up textures when exporting
- wrong shader file could be selected by the game engine
- the shader file requires minor adjustments to work, instead of editing textures and shaders on many tracks.

Download the basic files (no cars and tracks here)

Files required to run the game:
ATCC3
GameData
GameData_Locations
GameData_Teams
GameData_Teams_TrackVehicles_SafetyCar
UiData
UiData_Menu_Textures
UiData_Menu_Videos

Other files are optional, but you need to download at least one track and one car to play the game.

This is good for testing a track. But I still don't know how to switch to AI control when driving.
When a car falls behind a wall or between two fences, in GTR2 and rFactor there is one key to switch to AI control. Is there such option in GTR Evo?

New Track Loader:

We may use 4 images for tracks. If any of them is missing, there is nothing wrong.

1. Loading screen
This is the main image used when the track is loading.
Filename: TrackName_scrn
Optimal format: TGA, 1024 x 683 (3:2 aspect)
Other supported formats: jpg

GTR 2, GTL, RFactor or other game loading screens may be used, but they need to be renamed.
Any photo or game screenshot may be used, too.
The maximal size is 1024 x 768.
Smaller screens do not cover the whole screen, larger are displayed partially.

Loading screen may be displayed in full color, not scalable
and monochrome, scalable.
The monochrome screen color is defined in MenuSkins, the parameter TrackImageHue.
This screen is displayed in track selector and in championship.

The new track Loader.
The text NOW LOADING is animated, at the right bottom the game displays currently loaded object (track or car).

!20221231_1754_new track loader LOADING is animated.jpg

Track info main page displays a smaller, monochrome screen.

2. Track map
This is a preview of the track layout.
Filename: TrackName_thmb
Optimal format: TGA with transparent background, 609 x 322

The map is displayed in track selector, under Track info button.
If loading screen is missing, the map is displayed during loading.
The maximal size may be about 680 x 490, larger do not look good.
Please avoid using wholly black and wholly white images.
Black _thmb is almost invisible in the game. White may be invisible in Race 07 color scheme.

Image without transparent background
!20221231_2121_map without transparency.jpg

Track Loader: when there is no screen, the map is displayed during loading.
(if screen exists, it overlays the map)

3. Track small image
This is a small image, a preview of the track map, also known as TrackName_mini.
This image is used in GTR2, GTL and rFactor.
Optimal format: TGA with transparent background, 128 x 128
Filename: TrackNameTrack, used without _ the separator (for compatibility with earlier games)
Other supported formats: bmp

This image is displayed in track selector, track info and in championship.

Images without transparency are accepted too.
The size should not exceed 200 x 200 px
Recommended colors: red, yellow, orange, light blue, grey... not black.

It may be any small image, not only a map. Logo of the track, logo of the author or so.

4. Banner
This is the LOD_2 image, used it GTR2 after the track loads.
It is displayed here also after loading the track, and also in track info.
Filename: TrackName_LOD_2
Optimal format: TGA, 1024 x 51
Other supported formats: jpg

Examples of banners in Track info

BTW:
827 tracks and 5650 cars,
about 800 car models are already available for AllTimer GrandTour

Uploaded the full game soundtrack.

What music is in here, what is out

Certainly no:
Music from commercial albums, any style
Music with vocals (ignoring single words, they may be edited later)

Use with caution:
Music from games that were released commercially
Karaoke versions remixed from the original albums

Good choice:
Cover versions of rock, metal, blues, pop music without vocals,
Cover versions played by other musicians
Music from freeware games

Perfect fit:
Music from demo scene
Cover versions of game music played by any instruments
Midi or chiptune versions of popular hits
Playing time 1 to 10 minutes

Not here:
ambient music, soft classical music, slow music, extremely complicated math music, extreme speed, experimental music, music that offends anyone.

Yes here:
Dynamic, rhythmic and melodic music. Mixing electronic and live instruments. Significant melodic or rhythmic themes.

I tried to credit all authors, or at least games, labels, source, where the music comes from.
If you disagree that your music is featured in this compilation, there are hundreds of other songs to replace.
Only uploading may take some time.

Now I'm looking for a way, how to display, overlay music titles (filenames or mp3 tags) on the game screen.
Some Windows games display what song is playing, and this is very nice.
Possibly the authors of XD plugin know how to do this.
Maybe some .dll from a different game may be useful, that works with Direct X.
Does anyone have any ideas?

This is just a dream, how the music player could look.

to switch on AI driver for your car, you press DRIVER NAMEs key
this works only when COMPANIAN has activated this feature

RELEASE: Version 3.4

I know that my old life is ending
Very soon I'll lose my breath...
Yes, I feel I'm slowly leaving the scene. Spent 6 years improving the game engine, converting cars, tracks, building cars and tracks, upgrading existing works, integrating various mods into one stable game, learning, teaching the others, making mistakes, fixing bugs...
I need to change something in my life, return to photography, find a work, maybe a partner for life.
I may die today, tommorrow, or live even a few years longer.

I share everything what I was engaged in:
The modified game engine
Cars and tracks that I built
Cars and tracks that I converted, or adapted from GTR2, GTL, RFactor.
Tracks and cars that I improved and standardized.
Other files - texture packs, car skin templates...
Unfinished works that I have no patience or not enough skills.

To the people:
I do my best to make your works for another games look and work as similar to the originals, as possible.
I always credit the Authors (in readme files inside the folders). If author is unknown, I do not make myself the author.
I never ask for permission, I can collab, I can inform.
Very rarely I find time to inform the original authors about GTR2,GTL,RF,GTR Evo -> ATGT adaptations and improvements of their works. When I work on a new car, I see 100 other bugs on tracks and in other cars to correct. Ui improvements and new ideas. It takes hundred hours a day. Exhausting.

To myself:
If I wake up alive tomorrow,
I will update the files on the server when I add anything new, improve, update, make a not working car or track work.
I will share new works (conversions, adaptations)
I will try to finish my own works, this may be the hardest part.
