I think the question is more... why they have sometimes the tubes and sometimes not...
you see it also on the real world pictures.. sometimes they have that tube and sometimes not

The steering-wheel on certain versions of the Lotus 49 is asymmetrical.
Basically shifted to the left. Looks crazy but there was a reason for it, can´t remember.

No that is a M3, the ring taxi is (or better was) a M5
