Its nice when you have a pro driver say how it is and describe exactly what's wrong with current simulators.

It seems that isi and I racing simply don't perceive the problems with the fundamental way the cars handle in there games, or maybe they do and simply don't know how to go about the math.

Having had a chance to test the oculus rift as well its going to be incredible having both ac and the HD rift in the next 12 months its like the jump from no GPU to having a voodoo2 !

I'll wait for the final Oculus Rift version but start thinking if it's the right choice ^^

Yah I think the HD one should be just enoughf ' with the SD one it seems to work well in that its surprisingly natural and not disorientating to drive with so its a perfect proof of concept.

I was a big sceptic and although the OR is not as good as some people might make out ,over the next 3 years I could see it become the default way to play many games.

I'm buying the HD one as soon as its available and would recommend it to everyone , I cannot believe we will get a real solid sim and awsome vr in the same year !

I look at it this way: This time last year we thought the TP would be released any day now...After waiting this long another two to four months won't be that hard.

Great hearing impressions about the sim from a non-payed real would racing driver.

Pretty cool that driving the car that many people decided had arcade physics because of the dev video was very realistic and natural to him.

And matte paint in sim; drool

@Michael Hornbuckle: It did look a bit uncanny. One tiny thing being off can cause that... especially with race cars reaching or even exceeding ~ 2 - 2.5 G. And of course no sim is 1000% accurate yet unfortunately :) . Even in not-sims devs have to be careful that things look and act reasonable (within its environment) . It's good to see Kunos are trying to take it to another level - on the other hand we (or Alessandro Balzan) don't have a 599xxEvo in NkP to compare, I think it lacked GT and road cars (or basically anything popular)

@JesperGB @assettocorsa that is the part that I was talking, you can oversteer and manage it, sure losing time. You will see believe me!

@JesperGB @assettocorsa driving real racing cars for a racing driver is quite easy. Reaching the limit is hard. This is @AC_assettocorsa.

BTW I really like this news (even if it is only a screenshot) every day thing... :geek:

For me personally is Assetto Corsa big thing. I started like small child with cheap dexxa wheel with Rally Championship and from this time I was hooked up. I tried almost all decent racing titles, that could be called "Simulators" with wide range of wheel, pedals and monitors.

But when I tried Assetto Corsa first time in TP, I have feeling that I know the car from very start, I did not need to learn game, I just drive like if your friend lend the car and you try to find limits for "safe" drive. No WTF moments, no spins, just slow curve how to learn drive faster and faster. I end up with time just under 1:30 and was happy like puppy. Today I have problem to break 1:24 but even after few months I am still amazed about car handle and have big grin on my face quite often around track.

I just want to thank to Kunos team and especially to Luca Sodano for this. I dont belive, I just know, that final game will be something, something big and final wait is no hustle at all for me. Just have fear that 7680*1440@120Hz kill my GPU..but I will figure this out. I think my first post on this forum is in right section :)

The thing that was "off" was the missing knowledge of most people about this particular car`s physics ;) Aris posted a nice yt vid about the GT2 and some peculiar facts (you upshift at 7000, downshift at 8000).
I guess you're right, but that sounds a bit like using engine braking which isn't that common in GT racing as far as I'm aware, otherwise why downshift aggressively? Then again there's no time attack in real GT racing where everyone can push for that 105%... still I'd like to see G-force and other telemetry for that lap :geek:

ISI and iRacing have both had real life drivers rave about their sims, if this Balzan guy had raced one of them he could well of said exactly the same.

We dont need a confirmation to what already know...and that is,AC will act like a real SIM should do.
If it was Arcade i could of belived of some "payed" publicity but AC does not need it unlicke "others" so called "SIM".....
BUT a nice review from a proffesional driver is not something to not consider

Of course. Not.

Did you read what he wrote? He tested other simulations as well and didn't had the same feeling that everything is right from the beginning like in AC. So your point is pointless.

The impression, never had with other simulators, is the feeling of the car, the feel of the tyres / adhesion and especially not having to do "forced" trajectories where the grip is higher.

eerr yeah and? does'nt say which simulations he raced does it? could've been rf1 and GTR2 for all we know! Besides whose to say he would'nt say the exact same thing if he raced another title?

Sure it's nice, even great, when a real life racing driver acknowledges the software we're racing ourselves and I'm not taking that away from this interview, just stating that you should'nt believe everything he writes is gospel truth and bow down to his every word :)

have you tried the tp?
