I don't understand how the The Lotus 49 looks so fundamentally different to drive in the video in AC than it does in other games ( in a good way)

To me and I believe most people NKP always did the best job of getting the cars to have that feel of bite , tire lean and mass / subtle waghting of the car right weather that be with FFB on or off.

Why is this the case over other simulators what is it that the other simulators are lacking ?
I just wonder what it is that Konus did different with NKP that makes it stand out so much.

Kunos are simply more proficient at all levels !
Attention to detail is immense !
You can see it
You can hear it
You can feel it
Maybe you can even taste it ? -LOL

I've seen that Formula Abarth video so many times and I'm still impressed how well the car behives. It looks miles better that "theirRacing".

That Lotus 49 looks like really insane car ahead of its time. This video is quite good except that guy's gearbox treating. Can't wait for driving it.

Because he represents the future of racing drivers. Most now never actually drive anything that doesn't have paddle shifters... Effectively meaning they skip Formula Ford (although they too are on their way to get paddles....), and that means that they skip some valuable driving techniques related to non-downforce cars.
So what ? He doesn't need those driving techniques, the things that are valuable for Formula 1, he knows them already. If he ever goes to a racing series that uses h-shifter i'm 100% sure he'll learn and adapt quickly.

:D ofcourse it's a bit hurting to see the l49 shifted so roughly and how he misses the smooth feet of clark..

but well.. if an h pattern shifter is obsolete in highlevel racing now.. why should he need it...

I mean how many of us still need to pull a choke before starting a car today? :D

how many still use a 2 button mouse (without mousewheel just too buttons.. except mac users maybe.. or do they also have more then one button now? :D)...

how many are used to that numberringdial thing on a telephone?

tech changes :)

It´s a useless technique for him though since most open wheelers have paddle-shift these days (hell even most GT cars are paddle shifters nowadays)

If you guys would have read better, you would have understood that I'm not only talking about heel and toe, but also with car control and momentum techniques used extensively in Formula Ford.

When the "Big" Solar flame will hit earth and all electronics will die,we will be forced to go back to H shifter so its better to know this things....:laugh:Muhahahaha :whistling:

I do get your point but Alexander Rossi is not running Formula Ford. He´s a reserve driver for Caterham F1 so the technique is completely useless to him.

car control and momentum techniques you can get in other cars.
Also, he´s done skip barber before so i´m sure he knows how to change gear properly.

Tough to expect someone to know the car completely with just 2-3 laps in it.
40 year old car as well which i´m sure plays a factor as well.

Again he's not going to race in Formula Ford, and he doesn't need those techinques in F1/F2/F3. He has his own techniques to care about, and i'm pretty sure he could give a few lessons about car control and momentum.

Nobody thought that maybe the syncronizers or the clutch were not perfectly in order? :)
I hear Heel&toeing most of the times (if not Anytime)... simply the gear doesn't want to go in, and I remind that the 49 had a syncro gearbox... ;)
And still while having fun, he pushed a car "from the years of the REAL drivers (rotfl)" with 0 laps knowledge.
Many people underestimate too much the skills of these young drivers, including a lot of f1 ones...
Anybody remember Alonso driving the 375 of Gonzales around silverstone in 2011? He was pushing and sliding WHILE greeting the crowd...
I stop here otherwise we enter into the neverending debate "today's drivers vs past drivers" (which I'd love to do but I think it would be heavily offtopic)
:)

I think you underestimate the years of experience Rossi has had.

Skip Barber
Formula TR2000
Formula BMW
Formula Super 2000
GP2
GP3
F3.5 Series
F1 testing

I bet he knows a thing or two about momentum and car control.
And probably worked some with Rob Wilson.

I'm not referring to this specific case.

I'm replying to the people who argue that experience with slower, manual stick transmission/h&t are not relevant for faster single seaters. I don't agree, it is.

You also play iRacing, don't you? Then you know that when you master the SB, you become a lot faster with other cars as well. Not arguing about Rossi here, didn't even see the lap.

Yea i played iRacing, can´t say i ever really drove the Skip Barber seriously in iR.
Slower cars helps keeping in mind that you need momentum but i think if you have a fundamentally good view on how to go quick in theory then if you have driven stick or SB before makes very little difference to the car you are driving today.
All cars drive very differently, perhaps you are looking for other things in cars with different lines whether it´s an F1 or a Cadillac.

He can drive a stick too, if he wouldn´t he would not make it round a lap in Skip Barber.
