DRM Revival Mod for Assetto Corsa.jpg

The DRM Modding Team have released a new version of the excellent DRM Revival mod for Assetto Corsa.

Available for the simulation as paid content, DRM Revival most certainly proved to be a very popular new content addition to Assetto Corsa when it released back in early 2018, and it looks like this talented modding team have remained hard at work on these impressive historic racing machines, dropping a new update recently that brings the cars to version 1.2 status, and adds a number of pleasing improvements - not least of which is compatibility with the outstanding x4fab customer shader pack for Assetto Corsa (more on that another day...)

Check out the full change log details for DRM Revival V1.2 below:

  • PHYSICS: new tire called “rain” to use for wet tracks

Yeah, but those cars were superfragile in real life.
Most of these (bar the Lancia and both 935s) in fact if not were terribly unreliable at endurance races and if not they avoided them, were marked by poor performances there (source racingsportscars.com and wsrp.cz), the 308 and M1 Turbo were too terribly underdeveloped to be competitive - that's why Jim Busby (who got tired of waiting for his turbo engine as promised) swapped his NA engine for a Chevy V8

Rfactor 2, please.
If people are happy to pay $5 for each rF2's GT3 packs, then we're happy to pay $12 for the whole pack (or $8 for set of 5 or $) or over

S397 should take this up, charging it at the price I stated

I don't get why there isn't an NA Cosworth BDA powered Escort that Zakspeed used earlier in its career (they could use a Ford F2 physics) or the variations of the turbo Capri (available on GTL)

Was there an issue with how the cars were handling? I thought this mod was the pinnacle of driving accuracy and that those saying that the driving was weird were idiots!
In my opinion the guide was not realistic in managing the braking and the deterioration of the tires, I corrected this with the editing, but those who supported and still claims that the previous release was better has never driven a race car . One thing is the simulation of real driving and another thing is the skill in the game. In competitions with the PC or Playstation usually a talented young person is much quicker than an older one with slow reflections always and however also in reality but this does not mean that the car is realistic and the simulation is correct , everything is always very questionable. I hope I explained myself.

I see the engine sound on all the mid and rear-engined cars is still coming from the front.

Had to use CM to replace the sounds. It's not my speakers. All the other rear-engined cars I've got have the engine sound coming from my back speakers.

I wonder if DRM team has a surround sound setup to test with? More attention to detail would be great. I guess it's a small thing, but proper sound is one of my favorite aspects of the experience.

Yes this is the worst mod i have seen in terms of sound. I don't know why with the quality of the modeling and physics they did that bad job in sound. No surround, and even in stereo, sounds are very bad balanced , no dynamic etc etc...

I admit that ever since rF1, I'd love to see those in rF2. Especially for the Escort as I like the old "dogbones"(my father used to own an Escort Mexico):)

What I didn't know for a long time and would be terrific to have... the Lotus Europa Gr. 5 car. I think it was Harald Ertl that drove it scarcely(it has been restored) in DRM although first and foremost in the Gr.5 class at endurance events. Apparently it ran under Zakspeed and featured Minolta sponsorship. What a beast.

I really don't understand how people are finding the physics massively different feeling. Not sure what was changed but other than the brakes not taking as long to heat up the cars feel pretty much the same to me.
I tend to gravitate toward the 935DP most of the time...come to think of it.... I still have not driven most of the cars.
That car does feel a bit better than I remember.
The original tended to not respond properly to steering inputs, until the tires got a bit of temperature....even doing slow speed driving.
