ACC Update.jpg

The latest new build of Assetto Corsa Competizione is here - with plenty of multiplayer fixes included.

Firmly looking to address some of the online multiplayer issues that have arisen since Assetto Corsa Competizione dropped into full V1 release earlier this year, the new 1.0.5 build of the official Blancpain GT Series racing simulation is live and available to download next time you start your Steam client.

Although online multiplayer is by far the dominant focus of this new build, other small updates and improvements across the game have made it into the update, including the welcome tyre wear pitstop bug that affected some players in longer distance races.

ACC Build 1.0.5 Update Notes:

GENERAL:
  • Potential fix for failure to start the game with a particular combination of characters in the username.
  • Added logs for autosave replay issue.
RATING & MULTIPLAYER:
  • Minor changes to the server ping system.
  • Fixed CP servers memorizing disconnected users in certain situations.
  • Added 2nd results json file (via dumpLeaderboards) that contains more information.
  • Enabled Lumirank display in Multiplayer.
  • (Slightly) reduced amount of necessary netcode packets, especially while other cars are changing setups.
  • Fixed server trying to connect to the secondary lobby backend first.
  • Race weekend resets now reset the track grip as intended again.
  • Added configuration option "randomizeTrackWhenEmpty".
  • Added "forceEntryList" option for non-public servers.
  • Fixed "maxClientsOverride" not working as indented, including the calculation for spectator slots left on busy servers.
  • Improved "/next" admin command, which now always forces the end of the session instead of skipping to the next one.
  • Race weekend simulation now allows to chain sessions, so the weather and track condition will just carry over.
  • CP Servers will now chain the Qualifying session into the Race session, so the starting conditions are well known.
  • Teleports of own car will now re-focus it in the last drivable camera.
  • The initial CP Rating (until a certain amount of races/positions have been completed) changed. Winning points will move the CP Rating more directly to the target, while losing only gives a comparably tiny progress.
  • Improved backend stability, moved one in-memory cache layer to hard disk.
  • Server now creates the required folders if necessary.
  • The Pitstop MFD can now be used in FP and Q while driving in a team, allowing swaps in all session types.
  • Updated Server Admin Handbook v2 to cover: "Custom cars", "overrideCarModelForCustomCar", "customCar"; "forceEntryList"; "randomizeTrackWhenEmpty"
  • Fixed setup and timing serialization in driver swap situations. The car taking over should now be able to use the Pitstop MFD as intended.

GAMEPLAY:

  • Fixed tyre wear incorrectly resetting in pit stops.
UI:
  • Fixed issues with rebinding an existing control and saving presets.
AUDIO:
  • Audio scale improvements.
PHYSICS:
  • Fixed Mercedes engine damage raising too much at engine limiter. Additional damage tweaks for Audi R8, Lamborghini Huracán and BMW M6.
  • Fixed Honda NSX too high fuel consumption.
  • Honda NSX AI tweaks.
  • Fixed missing Porsche aggressive Nurburgring setup.
  • Fixed astroturf grip level at some locations on Spa.
AI:
  • Improved AI movement when they are on the outside.

ACC works better with my T300RS than with my small DD. With my small DD there is an obvious lack of grip.
The light and colors are wrong. I'm using an oled screen and it's always too dark, obvious on Paul Ricard.
The helmet cam is a joke when all you want his a fixed horizon...

F1 2019 just looks better than F1 2018 which looks worst than 2017.

Iracing is always doing updates and it still looks like ****...The physic is a joke again nothing that feel like driving a car even with a DD wheel.
Pffff
All these sims are disgusting with times. You buy gears and it changes nothing.
I will not buy RF2 Le Mans, they probably just add a few rumbles there and there for their pseudo laser scan version and it does not look better than the free version.

Yes i'm not a believer...They are not sims they are games.

This is not about ACC or RF2... is about a lot of expectatives created by Kunos and finished in a "bluff", no MODS, no Competizione like iracing, only GT3 cars... people thought it was like an AC2, but is only an "AC blancpain edition", i only play AC and RF2, and i think that AC is better than ACC, sorry, but it can hurts to the people who wasted their money with ACC, we will have more years of fun with AC, but not with ACC.

Hi there, I agree with you that we lack a bit in official communication, there are plenty justifications but I'll spare you the long read and just apologize, we will try to improve on that. Team had to take a small break to recover from the burnout and now we're firing again on all cylinders.

Our 1st priority is to make the game stable and improve performance when possible. This will make the game more enjoyable to everybody, obviously also to VR and triple screen users. The first hotfixes were focused on that and it will be an ongoing work for at least the whole 2019

2nd priority is to make the multiplayer and ratings as stable and properly working as possible. This is long term work but always high on top of priority list. We think multi core is already very good but there are many side features that need tweaking, rework or re enabling (some are disabled to keep things stable)

3rd priority is to fix and improve UI elements and player notification for offline, online, vr etc. Plenty of work to do here and it is undergoing. We expect good updates during summer. First indication is the brand new control option screens.

Lastly, we work on many features not enabled yet, i.e. animated pitstops, or requested by the community. As usual we do not comment on those until we have something working properly, because we do not want to raise hype and expectations and then maybe not be able to deliver. Rest assured we work on many many things requested and personally I'm very positive about it...

Content wise, our focus right now is on the free update of the 2019 season. It is much much bigger that we anticipated (lol!), it is already been worked as we obviously still gather data, cars, liveries and so on and... did I say it's a free update? I did? Well it's free.
More content announcements will arrive from official sources, when it's due. Again I'm not allowed to talk about this because of the usual legal matters I have explained on other posts. I will only say that I'm very excited!

Kunos are masters of the tease. Remember this when 0.6 release was delayed over 4 months ago?

Our progress to version 1.0 and beyond will be explained during the following weeks, and we have some interesting and unexpected news coming pretty soon, but since this is the last scheduled update of the Early Access Programme, we would like to offer a solid update while waiting for what is to come.

Please no more announcements about announcements.

I liked the title target: deliver a complete official racing series with night and day transition and realistic weather. It sounds simple but ALL other sims fail in one of of this three basics.

But what bothers me is the new game industry standards:the 1.0 milestone means nothing anymore. Almost all titles are released with so many issues that should be named as 0.3 tops.

Bad schedule targets? Lack of extensive testing? I don't know.

And we always will be getting the "small team" excuse as it was impractical to hire people when you make a couple of millions.

ACC is good even so.

Just what I'm still wondering is .... why begin with a new Unreal 4 Engine update when there were just a few weeks left before the V1.0 release.
It surely gave a huge amount of work to achieve that, while ACC seemed to run fine with V0.7
Likely a difficult decision to take .... ! as it's already been said UE4 is not the easiest engine to manipulate.

I guess this update might have given some new advantages, reason why this way was chosen .... but maybe surprises happened which were of course not foreseen.
Surely this is the reason why V1.0 was released with more problems than expected.

On one hand, it's great to read some information about what's being worked on currently, what's getting fixed, what the plans for the future are and so on.

On the other hand, reading it, you just can't help thinking "but the early access period ended months ago and the final version has been released, yet all of this reads exactly like we're dealing with a product that's months, if not years away from leaving early access"...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've noticed that everybody is benchmarking the game in DX11 and even saying the game does not support DX12 like in this review.
But if the game is going to support DXR for Nvidia, it has to run on DX12 right?
Am I crazy cause I remember running in DX12 or reading something about that.
Not that it magically would give any improvements but perhaps with weak single threads like Ryzen who knows.

Omitting the inaccuracies mentioned, I'm sorry but physics, FFb, sounds are unmistakably better in ACC ...
Some of that is pretty subjective. I personally don’t feel the FFB is better than AC. The physics? I don’t really know, because the FFB is so poor. Many of the cars feel unduly heavy, and just feel like they constantly understeer. The sound is a lot better though.

People keep saying the same about rFactor2, doesn't help much with user base.
AC is the most complete and finished (thanks to mods) package to day.

And again different games and concepts are compared.
ACC is a pure GT3 simulation.
AC1 is wonderful and has a bit of everything.
ACC is great because it specializes in GT3 races.
But you can not compare them!
Mods will never be possible, that does not allow Blancpain / SRO

I do not think that limited content is the most deciding factor holding people back.
