The highly anticipated release of Assetto Corsa Competizione gets ever closer - with a new E3 special trailer reveal, and a promise of gameplay footage coming soon!

With the E3 event in America set to kick off in the very near future, Kunos Simulazioni have released the very first trailer for the upcoming Assetto Corsa Competizione racing simulation - the official racing title of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series...

Having been announced back in February to much enthusiasm from the sim racing community, this new title is not seen as a sequel to the hugely popular Assetto Corsa game, but more of a branching out by the Italian development team as they look to make use of the much sought after official licence for arguably the best GT3 racing series in the world - the Blancpain GT Series.

Notable as the first game from Kunos to make use of he powerful Unreal 4 engine, including weather and time of day features, the new game certainly looks like it has many of the ingredients to become an instant hit when it releases on Steam Early Access later this year.

As well as the launch trailer, Kunos have also confirmed the simulation will be playable at E3 on the Thrustmaster stand, so expect the next few days to contain some first footage from this highly anticipated racing simulation...

Want to get an idea about what the developers have in store? Catch up on our recent interview with Marco and Stefano below:

Assetto Corsa Competizione should be available on Steam Early Access Summer 2018.

when there serious about making a simulator tell them to send me a email.
Please don’t fall back into this behavior. We had it during AC1 ea and we know how it ended!
This is the first actual gameplay of ACC, pre alpha.
Lean back, behold and enjoy the journey.
Show us you learned something in the past five years.

38? Damn, you come through as a teenager the past 3 years i am reading your posts.
Man up and vote with your wallet-dont buy the game, i think most of us are tired of your drama time and time again.

Everyone here has an opinion, I love AC just as much as anyone and I am quite sure ACC will be no exception, bugs are bugs and issues are issues,
makes no difference if you are 22 or 32 my eyes and ears tell me the same things,
audio is way off and the visuals are lacking performance to make them pop, but its a alpha version lets hope the final result is worth it, either way im sure my screenshot killer pc will survive.

I think it's looking and sounding pretty decent so far considering they're showing pre-alpha footage. And it's looking quite 'together' already so I'm sure EA is going to be fun.
Not sure why people are getting so upset and aggravated about it to be honest. It's early days and looking better than a lot of Sims out there already. We know how it handles if AC is anything to go by and hopefully the cars will react differently and predictably in the wet weather races too.
High hopes for this one!

The night footage is stunning! Seeing the rear spoiler casting a shadow on the track side signs adds so much to the immersion.

In the official forums one of the devs made this comment

"We are only now reaching the exciting (and complex) part of rain physics development, the E3 demo is very much a static environment in comparison to our objectives for release (and rather focuses on showing off visuals), stay tuned for more in that regard."

I also hope it improves in terms of shadow loading, there is some shadow flickering on the grid part of the fences when the car is near the start/finish line at Monza and the flickering can be seen on the fences before the first chicane.

But some things simply look like the game hasn't entered its beta phase where a group of people look around for stuff, usually graphic issues. Hence the name pre-alpha. For example the graphics of the car in the retro mirror-screen in the ferrari gt3 looks with cockpit shadow bugs (not the ferrari gt3 but the opponent car in the back through the dashboard rear camera).

This is Assetto Corsa, made by the same core + new devs. So it will have the same style of sounds, graphics, and physics. In this game the whole package matters a lot this time, so the game experience can't be boring since the objective is to keep playing and replaying the game.

But we know that the game will be shaped by the community after release because a bigger group of people can find more things to report in the forums. So bugs we see now in videos or graphical issues probably will be reported after game release, just like it happened with AC where the community also helped a ton identifying those.

To me Assetto Corsa looks more natural. To much colour in ACC like an arcade game, hopefuly they will fix this. Oh and the hands are massive.

Saturation levels are adjustable in AC, why would ACC be any different? What is hilarious tho is if you pull up Blancpain 24hr Spa photos, the colors are quite brilliant and saturated, so ummm yea.. :whistling::roflmao:

First time I ever attended a NASCAR race I was shocked at how brilliant and saturated the cars were, TV doesn't come close to capturing how the cars actually look. I'm sure Blancpain is no different.

AC was using PP filtters, thus saruration adjustment and more, I do not believe UE4 has that level of flexibility but you can always do some tweking via reshade, I guess.
Pallete looks almost Forza 7 like, how I remember it. Positively colorful. :)

One thing PC2 over did a bit is the puddles on the road. I understand wanting to show off but roads are crowned so the water doesn't just sit there in small lakes.
Nice to see ACC isn't doing the same mistake.
