Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have revealed their January Console Community Update for Assetto Corsa, bringing news of the long anticipated addition of private multiplayer lobbies, Porsche Volume III DLC details and a brief recap of all things AC on console from the last couple of weeks.

The studio have today confirmed that private lobbies for the console version of the title, something scandalously missing for the sim when AC shipped for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in August 2016, has finally reached the stage where submission into QA is expected as early as next week. Of course with the often protracted approvals process employed by both Microsoft and Sony still to come one shouldn't get too excited about seeing this functionality added in the immediate future. Regardless it is no doubt pleasant news to hear of tangible progress on this sorely missed feature of the sim. Of course I am not privy to the inside dealings of the process within Kunos, however I feel it would be fair to assume that with QA beginning next week and under the assumption that no unforeseen issues arise, submission to Microsoft and Sony, approval and a public release within the next couple of months or so should be a realistic expectation.

Other news from the January Community Blog shares with fans the expectation that the third and final Porsche DLC release for console is just around the corner, with the proposed update and DLC entering submission to the respective console developers next week. At present Kunos cannot offer an expected release date, however mid-to-late February feels like an appropriate guess based on previous releases from the console version of the title.

Sometimes things are a bit late. We are not entitled to it. We aren't owed it. It's announced and it's coming and we're all looking forward to it. But sitting on a forum saying "They said January!! And it isn't here yet!" isn't going to help anyone. So how about we all stop getting our panties in a twist, calm down, have a drink of water and look forward to what is coming - lots of new and awesome stuff. Be patient.

You heard it from Marco, you hear it from me. The RSR is not ready yet. If you insist on receiving an unfinished car just so that it meets a release date and accept the fact that it's unfinished, I think you misunderstand this genre. Especially that, A: eventually it will be there when deemed ready, B: there was a replacement for it, C: you continue to receive free stuff.

There is no PR wizardry going on in the background, just an unfortunate combination of factors such as it being a completely new and untested car with pending reference material and a production schedule which coincided with half of Porsche and most of KS shutting down for the holidays after a ridiculously exhausting period.

In any case, the car will be out when it is ready to go, it is in everyone's best interest.

Hope this RSR is better than the GT3 R:rolleyes:. Anybody have a good setup for this car for the Green Hell? Tried my usual stuff and didn't work well. The dampers are horrible with default and get worse when i change them:mad: It's probably the rear wing bug which is not functioning as it should. The Porsche should not need that much downforce from the rear wing, because there is the engine adding weight. The GT3 R should be a good top-speeder for this reason. This car should not even need significant rear-aero in the rain (8:00 following):

Do you have ANY idea how my jaw dropped reading this until I realized private lobbies didn't mean interested parties lobbying Kunos to favour the console.

I thought for a moment this site had been hacked by the lunatics and was posting fake news to the front page!

Zero difference if you want. When I prepaid a car with 150hp in real life, I don't want a 130hp car day 0 and a "free" engine mapping to reach 150hp 3 months after.
I will not start a controversy but for me there are nothing really "free". Kunos devs don't work for 0 EUR so you paid it when we bought other DLCs. It's certain.

If you're going to use an analogy then at least try and align it with what you're analogising to, fixed it for you below

"When I prepaid a car with 150hp in real life, they didn't have it in stock so just gave me a 130hp car there and then, then when it did come in stock they gave me the 150hp car I originally asked for and was told I could keep the 130hp car too, bonus! two cars and I only paid for one!!!111"

It's better like that ! It's free... Ty for your help :)

A "car model" on Assetto Corsa DLC is not a product itself but a part of it :/ Imagine you bought a Pandora wristband with five jewels and a year later you add one (pearl/jewel) more (for free maybe as a gift) => Do you have two products (ie. two wristbands) ? [your wife will be happy :D]

oh a new analogy :)

in which case it's more like you (your wife**) saw a five jewel pandora advertised in the magazine and so went to your local stockist, but once there you were told they were out of stock of that model - you could buy this alternative one, still five jewels just a different style, then when we get new stock we'll send you the one you came in for free of charge, does that sound ok with you sir?

You could give the second one to your wife or to your mistress, but in both versions of our analogies we aren't left with two products - we're left with none

** I'd be having words with my wife if she asked for a pandora wristband, real chavy pieces of tat tbh

My god these analogies are nonsense.

Here's one for you - you bought the Porsche DLC. There was meant to be a new car added to it in January. It was delayed due to technical issues, but it is still coming, just later than planned.

So what exactly are we arguing? Are toys really out of the pram because of a late product? Let's get some perspective here, as it's being lost in a sea of analogies.
