Reiza Studios have dropped a very nice couple of Twitter messages this evening, showing off some interesting content making its way to the simulation.
  • BMW M3 E30, Lotus 23, Mini Cooper 1965 confirmed.
  • Kart track updates in development.
  • Further content to be revealed.

Well, these are a nice surprise! Ahead of the usual end of month roadmap posting, Reiza Studios have revealed a bunch of new content is due to make its way into the simulation in the very near future - with the promise of yet more to come as part of the next build update.

Yes you've seen it right, the historic collection of cars is set to be expanded yet further with the inclusion of machinery from BMW, Lotus and Mini previewed within the tweet, potentially forming part of the upcoming touring car pack DLC that has previously been revealed by the studio.

As well as goodness from the world of old school racers, Reiza have also confirmed two of their kart venues will be heading into AMS 2 very soon, with work currently underway to bring the Buskerud and Speedland to the sim in the very near future, previews of which you can see below:

Will be interesting to try the Mini.I have raced real Mini 7s in the 1990s & the slipstream is huge & should make for close races.
I also like the Lotus 23 & BMW.

I would suggest the Mini needs to be joined by the Lotus Cortina,Jaguar Mk 2,Mustang,Falcon.Hillman Imp & Fiat Abarth.

The Lotus 23 needs Lotus 30,Merlyn Mk6

BMW M3 needs 190E Merc & Sierra Cosworth.

Add there too these old classic cars: Mercedes 300, Datsun 510, BMW 2002,
Toyota 2000 GT, and some old Dodge and a Pontiac Firebird. Imagine that...
What a dream Sim Automobilista 2 would become!

They'd have to make hundreds of new liveries first, otherwise some classes would have grids of two.

I was talking about the basic AI races as it stands now sir. If I race with a near full grid of AI cars on the track, chances are I will see a duplicate car livery AND number as the one I am in. I would think this is an easy fix, however I may be wrong. :)

Lotus 30, using a Ford 289, was not in the same class even if it wasn't very fast.

How about an Elva Mk VI, Elva-Porsche, or Elva Mk VII with an occasional rare Brabham BT-8? I suppose some of it depends on which engine sizes Reiza's Lotus 23 comes with.

More likely, as with the current prototypes, we might see one example car of each engine class if the Lotus 23 proves popular. And they'll come from the brands that are already licensed, so possibly Lotus 40 since Slightly Mad had that licensed or a Lotus 30 since it's virtually the same car.

I completely agree. Indeed, it makes sense to produce packs of two or three cars (better more) from the same era or championship, similar in parameters. It would be interesting for championships

I don’t recall ever noticing this behavior you’re mentioning. Just to confirm, you have seen the issue even when you have the number of AI opponents set to no more than the total number of cars in your chosen class -1 for yourself?

If you choose a car and then fill out the AI with the remaining skins, there will always be a AI in the same car that you choose, leaving one skin unused. This problem has been a issue for quite some time, I've even seen it happen when choosing a field size less than the total number of skins available.

Paddle, H-pattern and Sequential shifting all available at the same time is something we still need desperately.
Already have this with Fanatec hardware--because they provide a simple tick box in the control panel to duplicate paddles and sequential shifter mappings. Everyone has always been able to have an H-pattern and one sequential controller co-existing no matter what brand hardware it is.

Maybe you should ask your wheel and/or shifter manufacturer to smarten-up and do the same.
