Non stop action? Massive crashes? Fun filled laughs? If you like any of those things then you will love our brand new racing club coming the Christmas..!

By now you must have seen every year we try and do different events in the sims/games we offer at RaceDepartment, all in the name of the quest for fun... often making up events that usually end in carnage, carnage with the cars and carnage of the rules. The drink takes over and that little love tap escalates into something rather dramatic indeed!

Well to keep up that tradition this year will be no different, although we fancy a bit of a twist of metal to add to the cocktail...welcome to the RaceDepartment Racing Club family the criminally underrated Wreckfest!

So grab your mates make up a team and come to the fun events or turn up solo and join a team for some fun nights of mechanical mayhem (in game monetary prizes are on offer at these events, which can be used to upgrade or repair the cars later).

We will of course be running a number of different events over the festive break so fear not, something for everyone will be on offer here at RaceDepartment during the upcoming festive season!

So does all this sound like something you might want to be involved in? Fed up of being serious and avoiding contact? Want to simulate a public server race but with your RD mates? I think this could be rather a lot of fun...

Although we are using the Christmas holiday period to launch this new club we have bigger plans than just a holiday smash and grab. Wreckfest is not just for Christmas.

If abused correctly we reckon this little corner of the website could last for years, hopefully becoming a regular fixture for those who just want to unwind for the night, it all depends on your dear sim racer, sign up and make it the success we think it deserves!

The events will be run with very few rules and it's usually straight forward... drive as fast as you can for as long as you can and survive. Failing that you could just bash your way round every lap, the choice is yours! Drive solo or work as a team with different objectives, possibilities in Wreckfest are simply endless! To add to the fun we will throw up the usual RaceDepartment bells and whistles, professional organisation, the occasional live stream and of course TeamSpeak channels to share in the fun on the track with equally riotous banter

The server can be left running all day/night with a few events to get your teeth into.. we will post a official start time and sign ups will be welcome, you can also post at any time that you are ready to race and see who turns up.. so it's something a bit different to our usual routine, and hopefully it will allow ease of access to more of our awesome sim racing community to get in on the action and have some smash and dash fun.

From keyboard to wheel all are welcome, you just need to be a premium member to race. Racing Rules will be basic or as the game allows, but other basic RaceDepartment rules will be in effect, except the golden rule of course, as smashing and bashing will be encouraged. Incident reports may be laughed at.

Teams will be allowed through the game at times and will be equalised if necessary.Join the official races to book you spot or team.

This isn't bad for a change of pace, take the headset off, get hold of the Xbox controller and just play in front of a monitor.

@Rupe Wilson I saw your links to the rules and incident reporting and thought 'surely they can't actually be <click> ... ah yeah ... not to worry, my kind of Wreckfest race'.

I'll get the game back on. I think this game could work with people who kind of want to race and bang at the same time, instead of bang and drive the track in reverse which you tend to get a lot when mixing it with the Great Unwashed.

Ya sometimes you may need hit the refresh button to refresh the host list to clear if you are seeing all red Xs. You are going see a few red Xs,, that be servers running a mod or 2.

Also make sure you not running any mods in the Mods tab. Can't join a stock host\server with any mods running unless they are a safe custom skin or camera mods. I don't like Bugbear low far chase cam, so I tweak them and load my own custom cams for the cars.

just gave it a quick go now and i'm getting terrible tearing....vsync is enabled in game....any ideas ??

Using in-game vsync can cause issues. Some players been turning in-game vsync off and use adaptive vsync in the Nvidia or AMD control panel.

• Attempting to set Refresh Rate in the Launcher results in the launcher crashing.
• Clutter (grass) shadows are disabled for now.
• The backfire effect of the exhaust remains in the original location even when the exhaust is changed.
• In extremely rough landings (like after a crash) one or more wheels of the car may clip below the ground.
• Outdated mod tracks may cause the game to crash when loading the track. To fix the issue the track needs to be re-exported by the mod author with the latest tools included with the game.
• In Replay, Chase Far and Chase Near cameras are switched.
• Screen flickering on DX11 with certain Kepler-based GPUs.
  For now only known workaround is to disable grass altogether.
• Sometimes launching the 64-bit executable results in a fatal crash. Launching the 32-bit executable first, closing it and then launching the 64-bit executable has reportedly helped in many cases.
• Occasionally the game will not launch after installing mods. If this happens, first try launching the game with '-disable_mods' (without quotes) launch option (right click on the game name in Steam Library > Properties > Set Launch Options). If that doesn't help, remove c:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\[User ID]\228380\local\wreckfest early access\modlist.mods file and try again.

Be warned, with the June Build, the A class cars got a big upgrade in Hp\speed. With no assists, the A class cars are a handful. Easy to spin the tires when giving car some gas and the rearend will want to come around. So a lot guys online been "cheating" and using an assist or 2 to tame the new A class cars.

There are Advance controller settings and you will need get them dialed in if you want better control of your car. I'm on my 10th settings for my DFGT wheel after 4 years ( I not a sim player ). New Build come out, you may have to make major changes to your advance settings, like the June Build did!

That's completely fair and unbiased against console players. Thank God I'm treated like a second class citizen for not having a PC from the jump. Had me worried there for a sec. Console players who have five years of league racing should, by all means, be banned from league racing on the PC until they prove their worth. After all, you can't really be a real racer unless you play on PC.

Good thing PC players are so smart. Otherwise, I'd have banned them for not being console players in the 15 leagues I created here. But I've learned that the master race is always right, especially when they own the Country. So, now that I have a PC, I'll just report console peons and hope to be liked by Herr Himler.

Yep why we have the class division about console racers and pc racers its all a bit elitist if you ask me..
i started from a xbox and race pro many moons ago with a controller and loved it..
got a wheel on my xbox loved it even more...
eventually moved over to pc. i love the console for what it does its just the price that kills me every time..

So Pc racing is where i am.. but nothing wrong with these kind of games also.
life is taken to seriously at times, this is just clean honest fun in a car behind your wheel or controller, and i love somebody to turn up on a keyboard and wup all our arses...
i cant ask for more

there will be class restrictions on the night to mix it up a bit..
but as we have found already power is nothing without control. and a all 4 wheels pointing in the same direction can make a big difference.

Sorry i missed this one,
i dont know, i dont use vsnyc or that stuff. I just let it go and turn my setting up or down till i get a stable fps the higher the better, if below 60 fps you need to lower your setting..
i use the steam fps counter to keep a eye on my fps

may game runs super smooth all maxed out with a fps of about 80
i turn the setting down so im pushing 100fps + on heavy impacts you do see the fps drop 10 or even 20 at times but ive not has screen tear or stutter ect..

No, it is not about 5 PC races. If I remember correctly it is about 5 CLUB races. And this is (I think) only to be known as a fair driver.

This league is open to Premium Members of all regions. Before signing up make sure you have at least participated in a minimum number of five recent racing club or racing league events at RaceDepartment before the start of the series.

To race in any club in RD all you need is a premium membership.
We do have maybe 2 types of club races a easy one and one a little more of a challenge.
easy ones are social races and have the social Event tag by them
that is club racing in its simplest form.
Anybody just stepping out would be welcome in them clubs but that's not to say you cant sing up to any event you like, the choice is yours.

We also run league events , in order to enter a league we ask that you have at least participated and completed in 5 RD club events..
this can be achieved in 1 week if you are willing to drive in different clubs.

It has nothing to do with speed are how good you are..
the only thing that i would be looking for from the 5 events are.

1. Was he there
2. Was he on teamspeak
3. Was there any problems with his driving on track.
4. Did he complete the race.

so that's that covered.

The events we will run in Wreckfest are fun club events.
just sign up and race as long as you are premium.
