AC Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 TT 12 @ Grobnik - Tue 14 May

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
@HF2000 Could I also have a PM to set up an emperor account, where Dan goes I usually follow:)
Hi Malcolm,

It's canceled. Do you still want the Emperor account? You're welcome for the Wednesday event in which we always have 10+ drivers.
And the F3 on Thursday has also spots left.

If you give me a decent setup, I will join to make it 8 if that's enough.

Never driven this car.

Yes, hopefully will be able to join one of the races in the near future. Pity about tonight, was a good combo.

Evening all,

Could I throw my hat in the ring for this and future events? Still a newbie but would lover to be more active.

Will need the Emperor account and password etc.

Thanks and look forward to joining you all for a bit of fun and games.

Paul

Hi BaldPaul,

You're very welcome! I will send you a PM with the necessary information.
Please enter your real name in your RaceDepartment account/account details. There's field called Real Name.
It's for use in the race only and it's mandatory to join them.

What's a reasonable lap time for this combo?

I am stuck in the high x.xx - dont want to be the rolling chicane!

Hi Paul,

We have a gentleman's agreement not posting laptimes here because we don't want to discourage potential participants as our events are for every skill. In case you are slow, it's not a problem as long as you comply to the Blue Flag rules. We all like filled grids and backmarkers are a nice challenge too.

If you want to compare your laptimes with other, you can go to Emperor, select the server and click on the tab results. https://acsm.racedepartment.com/results?server=2

But please don't be disappointed if you're 3-6 seconds behind. If you become a regular at our events and learn from others and accept help from others, you will progress quickly, as history has taught us.

Welcome Paul. Note that this race is next week not today. If you want a good intro into the club then the Weds races are a great start.

Full understand on the lap times however I would have thought mine would serve as encouragement to others rather than a deterrent...

Would any of the established competitors be open to a little on track tuition? Even if it is a lead and follow type 10 minutes?

Also. is this a spec series or does anybody have a 'tune' that is a little less understeery and willing to share. My skill levels have not reached the heady height of tuner as yet.

@BaldPaul
For the Tipo I go wing 3, the rest only applies for your particular driving style and does not mean performance wise you are at a loss.
Nothing worse than being in a race forum and being at the back, with the field disappearing. That is why this forum likes all skill levels. And the bigger the variation and numbers the better.
It gives everyone a challenge, with people to race against.
When you think of it, racing with two people at the front of the pack is exactly the same as the same as that happening at the back of the field.
The rest is just ego.
Wednesday is particular, in that mostly the above conforms to that. With the choice of two front wheel drive cars and a rear wheel drive Mazda mx5 cup car.
The mx5 is the best learning tool you can pick.
The two FWD are more of a specialist car choice with the Suzuki being quick and easy to drive and the Abarth being quick but tricky.

And I totally agree with @Kek700 above. The advantage of the cars in the Wednesday events (especially the MX5 and the Suzuki) is that you can concentrate on racing and situational awareness because you don't have to 'fight' the car as much as the vintage, formula and GT cars.
