Classic & Sports Car – Driving Jochen Rindt’s Alfa Romeo GTA – 4.jpg

Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

This week we're trying out some 70's tin top classics on @Fat-Alfie's Battenbergring track. We'll see if the GTAm is a match for the RS1600!

Battenbergring has a great flow and very challenging high speed turns as well as hard braking zone for the slow corners.

The details are magnificent and the deadly lampposts are also present here.

I did not make any of them so that would cause a problem i am sure. I probably got them on RD anyway. Should we not just research on here or could we place them in a folder and provide a link to everyone?

Upload to emperor would be fine but i will have to send them to someone with access to the account i imagine. Would that be Colin or Han maybe?

There is this GTAM skin pack...

...which I can upload.

I can't find such a pack for the RS1600. Having a private set of skins is a bit more complicated as they need to be hosted somewhere for people to pick up.

Gone flat out in both cars, and with lapped times i,ve got it down to within 0.6 in the Escorts favour, but if my 3rd to last time had been counted it would have been down to 0.2,so it could be a fairly close race.plenty of overtaking oppertunities here..

I've uploaded the GTAM skin pack to the server so you should have a wider choice now.

I haven't found a similar RS1600 skin pack but let me know if you find one we can use.

I cannot keep it on the track, no room for my many errors. I once struggled to remember an off, now they come thick and fast.
Lifting does nothing, braking does nothing, then if it is a fence or wall, it suddenly goes terminal.
I am left struggling to find a gear to get out of this predicament, the wheel is skewed so I cannot tell which paddle is up or down and to add insult to injury I cannot see the gear display due to the wheel stuck at 90 degrees.
if it is a hedge I sail merrily though and enjoy a country sight seeing trip of immense interest,
Just as the enjoyment turns to, I wonder if this is a short cut, I am faced with a fence of slight proportions that I am convinced will not stop my route back onto the track. With hopefully a short cut thrown in. Bang!!! suddenly all my hopes are dashed and I am back in the pits with a 1 lap deficit and the added indignity of sitting there “dormant” whilst the timer chugged merrily down at a very slow pace to zero.
:(

A little lift off goes a big way in the alfa. Plan your turn in's early like an early formula 1 car, and when you turn in, hold the wheel a little longer before you readjust, all 4 wheels need to get touching again :D I have the diff power up to 70 to try and get some extra turn in from the rear.

But the light braking, light throttle application all keep the weight steady, allowing you to then throw it around and help you through a turn instead of hinder.

Then again, I look at the fastest laps on the server, and I don't know why I'm offering advice. You're a little faster than me, and I'm enjoying myself :roflmao:
