So last time I did this there was a random power surge that made my computer do an emergency shut down, and I suspect the plane that crashed into the road about four kilometres away in a straight line had something to do with that.

Let's hope it doesn't happen again? Surprisingly no one was hurt or seriously injured. How?
I'm thinking the transmission lines did him a favor by rupturing his fuel cell on descent.....no explosion when he crashed landed means no fire to burn you to death...so both pilot and passenger survived. (the explosion to ignite the fireball came in mid air behind and away from the plane. 1/2 sec later.)

Does anyone have a baseline lap time for this course/conditions (I'm looking at you @Allan Ramsbottom )? Looking at RSR Live Timing this morning, I think those times are slow. I don't want to commit knowing I'll be a lap down by the end of lap one.

We generally refrain from discussing lap times, precisely to avoid discouraging someone from joining. There's usually a 3-4 second spread in qualifying so I'm sure you'd find someone to race with and the only way you'll end up a lap down is if you crash a lot. :) Come race, it'll be fun! :D

Last time we did this in these cars a majority of the pack was +/- .7 seconds from each other. There's a front-field, mid-field, and rear-field. Wherever you end up you're likely to find close racing.

Come on in! The worst that will happen is we'll help you out and explain to you the mechanics of driving this particular car and you will get better.

That was mean of you Peter ;-)
I did an half hour quick practice yesterday to built a quick setup, not to be caught with my trousers down today and when I hit that 01:55:55 yesterday I just smiled and let it be there on RSR.

Btw, it would be nice if all you guys would use RSR Live timing actively. It would mean we could "race" each other offline as well - would be nice to see you guys up there.
And yes, racing the Alfa Romeo GTA with you fellas is always worth joining. I cant race this week and had to stay away from most events as of little time but you cant keep me away from those Alfa Romeo GTA racers, even if it's online for spinning laps at the back of the grid - always lots of fun this one.

So, sorry to back out last minute, but I live in Washington, and it's nice out, and to be specific, I live here; http://photo.edwardmowinckel.com/?page_id=262

Soooo. I'm going cash in on the nice weather and go outside. I hope you understand that the beach is a pretty rad place to be.

Can't blame ya!

Server is up, qualifying will begin in 45 minutes. Please remember to use your real name in-game and on TS, and remember if you crash someone you need to wait up and give them the position back. Let's race!

Great racing guys! Intense battle with @menos | M6 but I managed to pull out the W. :D We'll see you next week at Mugello.

Yes, that was some epic battling there Brandon! Thanks for the nice race fellas.
I have no excuses why I didn't make it stick - the mistakes where mine and I will make sure next time around you see the dust ;-)

I feel so bad for Joel - he wiz'ed those lap times like they were nothing, probably driving one handed, sitting in a rocking chair with a White Russian and a cigar to boot. Too bad about his computer problems :-(
Also Bobby was fighting the computer bugs + all that pedal work in the Alfa Romeo GTA dislodged his pedals, sending hime cursing more than a few times over the course of the race.

You know you picked a wrong Italian made vintage race car when the floor panels are so badly rusted that you get your feet stuck between the dislodged pedals during a race ;-)

I look forward to the next race with the little Italien beauty.

I vote for the Wiz to get a passenger though from the next race on to even the field a bit and give us mortals a chance:

<- Nice.

Job kept me and glad it did. I don't know this car at all. I definitely need to discuss setup for the Alfa with you guys. Sorry I missed the action. Back to honing my setup for Sunday's Barcelona race. Hope to see you there @menos | M6

I think most of us are in agreement that the GTA is one of the most fun cars in the game to race, it's a hoot to slide around and very rewarding when you get it right. Hope to see you on track soon! :)

Yes @thespeedracerx look in next time around, as #TheConvict has mentioned, not only the actual events are always a real pleasure, the track action usually happening after the actual event are a hoot as well.
It is always a pleasure racing you guys ;-)
Seeing Allan sliding that Escort RS1600 around Silverstone while everyone had a blast on track and at least one or two other cars swapping paint around them was great fun!

Mine was router related. Tried to reboot modem/router during qualifying but it didn't help. Then came back when the race was over after doing a factory reset on the router and that didn't work either.

Came back a third time after bypassing the router and going straight into the modem and my ping was rock solid at 42.

I guess it's new router time.
