ACC ACC Endurance Series - Monday Nights

Assetto Corsa Competizione Racing Club event
More symmetry, without it I’m starting to develop a twitch looking at it ;)

Such a good idea, mirroring the D to become the C but just needs the C to more on point and a little smoothing. Also, maybe the R can follow the curve of the C on the inside on the lower horizontal line at the end

I mean no offence I’m probably being too anal

Just saw your message. No worries, every tips are good to take.

I did this just to see if the kerbs could make it better (again, dont mind the pixels and finitions, it's just a test). Do I keep the kerbs ? Do I keep the car ? Do I keep the chekered flag ? I'm all ears open :D

Hi, a bit late to the party, but I wanted to say thanks to the staff, helping hands and drivers of the series, the attitude of everyone around here is awesome, reading your post-race reports and everything is great, and if this driver base will be preserved in the future this could be a very good place to race in the long term for everyone. Sim racing could become very easily a quite toxic, but this grid of 16/17 clean and fair drivers is definitively better than 25/30 crazy people, as many leagues out there have, and is the best way to improve having fun, so I hope everyone of you will stick in the ACC Monday races here!

My only advice is to try to implement driving categories like silver, bronze, am or similar. I know it’s not easy to set up (due to different speed in each track, people improving etc.) and possibly is too much admin work, but I think it could be nice and rewarding for everyone to “fight” for the podium or a victory in our respective class.

Last thing, don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to sound like a pompous windbag, but if someone wants I’m always available to try to help and work a bit together in the practice server via voice chat on Discord, so if someone thinks it could be useful, just dm me and we’ll set up some sessions together (my English is far from perfect anyway, but it’ll be enough to understand each other).

Thanks again and see you on the track

Really great idea ! But yeah, might be a PITA for admins :ninja:

We were able to do that when we used SGP, you could make Am and Pro available for selection. It's something I'd love to do but the only issue was I had complaints that some of the am guys were too quick...as you say it's hard to manage.

Would it be possible to set a rule like the 107% one ? For exemple, guys who are between 100% and 102% of a track's world record are in the top category, those between 102% and 104% are in the middle one, and 104% and over are in the last one.

And we organise people in the categories based on their own best laps for each track ?
I don't know, maybe I'm speaking total non sense :roflmao:

What I like to do is utilise the great stats that Chris posts after every race.

Who finished ahead of me last race? He’s my target next race.

97% consistency? Next race I want 98%.

Who did the fastest lap time ahead of me in the race. Next time out, I want a faster lap than him.

Did I get any off tracks? Next time I want none.

Aside from the racing and points on offer, there are lots of other aspects to make it interesting, which will all ultimately lead to being a bit better than you were last time out.

Personally think it’s a lot of extra unnecessary work for Chris / Will for a small field of regulars. If it was 30+ consistently perhaps, but these are just fun races with nothing on the line. The points are just a nice add on, it’s the clean racing which is important.
This kind of details to try to add a bit of deepness to the series and to give an extra motivation to every one are far from being an “unnecessary” thing in a community, and a lot more "fun" oriented for a "fun" league (as you said) than try to be 1% more consistent than the previous race, and for me it’s also a matter of respect for everyone here regardless their current skills/experience and, above all, really useful in the long term to maintain the regulars in the series (if that’s a goal, otherwise yes it could be useless). I was an admin and steward in a league some time ago, and the “split division” changed the game for a lot of people and they were much more involved, fighting for their Pole, their P1 etc. and not for an overall P17. Then I agree that it could be too much work and it’s difficult to set up well, but that’s another story and it’s ok, nothing to say about that

I didn’t say the idea was unnecessary, I said it was extra unnecessary work to pile on Chris who administers the series alone.

Two different points entirely.

EDIT:

I don’t like the implication that I don’t respect anyone I race with, or converse with on these forums.

Basically what Andrew says - If it was automated it would be a no brainer but currently with the method we use I'd have to make a server entry list that would involve all your IDs etc. As an unpaid volunteer with a busy home/work life as it is I wouldn't be able to do it.

Custom Liveries - Important please read and follow

Custom car files are saved here: Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Customs

Cars folder
- has json files which control the car number, team names and a reference to where the actual livery is saved
Liveries folder - Contains the liveries

Instructions
  • Download and install your custom skin (or save it to the relevant folders if you are making it from scratch)
  • Load the game and select your car then the livery you downloaded
  • Load a single player session - once it loads to the pits quit the game
In the livery folder of your custom skin you should see the following:

1677246544067.jpeg

Sponsors.png - This is the design
Sponsors_0.dds - This is the design created by the car preview window in game
Sponsors_1.dds - This is the compressed file that gets created when you load in to a game

It's the Sponsors_1.dds that creates the lag spike I believe. If the livery you send to Johann doesn't have that file then when you join the server everyone will get a lag spike as their game creates a copy of that file. If you do the above process then send the Cars and Liveries folder to Johann there should be no lag.

In a nut shell - make sure your Livery has the two dds files before sending to Johann. Some custom liveries you download might already contain the extra dds file which is fine.

I would suggest a cut off date for livery submissions to be Saturday Night before the race on Monday. This gives Johann a chance to package up and get the link online for at least a day so everyone can download and install the livery pack.

This is an example of how we want the folders sent over please:

If you need any guidance just shout. @bobbyD_ does all that make sense Sir?

I’d say exactly the same point entirely, in fact.
You don't like it, but I only tried to think for the whole grid and it's future and not about what I like to do after my races, probably that's the difference. And that's why I also would have expected different words, but maybe is only a misunderstanding.

About the extra work it requires, as I said from the 1st post no doubt about that, it’s not possible right now and that’s perfectly fine, understandable and clear from the beginning. Was only a general suggestion

I will just put it out there - reading text on a forum, especially when we have such a varied user base from different countries - things can come across not as intended.

Enrico raised the idea, I'd love to do that but Andrew just confirmed it would require me cloning myself which my wife would not be happy about....she has to put up with one of me! haha. If I can find a way to implement pro and am categories I will look in to it. For now just use the scores as a reference. If someone is a couple of points ahead the chances are you'll be wanting to beat them next time out.

Can you send me the clone mod?

Absolutely! Great post!
One thing I would add is:
If you are designing a livery, it makes sense to disable the generation of the .dds files, so you don't have to delete these files to get an updated version of your livery. Simply go into C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Config and open the menuSettings.json and change “texDDS” (line 3322) to 0.
Now you can simply click on the number in the car selection to get an updated version of your livery (don't forget to delete your .dds files first). If you choose to keep “texDDS” on 1, you'll need to delete all .dds files in your liveries folder to see the progress. After the designing the livery, set “texDDS” back to 1 and generate the .dds files. There should be 4 .dds files:
  • sponsors_0.dds (showroom)
  • sponsors_1.dds (track)
  • decals_0.dds (showroom)
  • decals_1.dds (track)
If some .dds files are missing, then usually the respective .png file is missing or “texDDS” is set to 0. Hope this was helpful.
