It's fair use the majority of the time since the mods are not being sold and not intended to take business from the owner or imply that the mod is by the copyright holder.(Keep in mind that every real world logo used without written permission from the copyright holder is in violation)

I do agree though that stealing other people's 3d models etc is really not the way to go. Maybe the way to go is find the Australian equivalent of Lilski and ask him to make the "definitive" Bathurst.
Well I am no expert on Bathurst so I have no idea! it's just that when we had the race in our league there were guys who raced it in iRacing and they were saying it's very close to the iRacing version (which if I understand well is laser-scanned?).It's on my list, as it's a public road there are no real issues with copyright either.
I personally don't get the fuss about the FM7 bathurst. rF1is still the best version available for moddable simulations (Which, might I add, is STILL the version that teams use in there simulators). FM7 was wildly inaccurate

Personally I can't do without my daily fix of Okutama.Tbh, I only use two types of tracks... Kunos, and mine
