Hamilton Cruises to easy win in Canada, Vettel stars in the Ferrari.

Canadian Grand Prix Race Report.jpg

Lewis Hamilton cruised to an untroubled Canadian Grand Prix victory today as new Mercedes teammate Bottas helps secure the first Mercedes 1 - 2 of 2017.

Whilst the action up front was pretty tame it was left to the might of championship leader Sebastien Vettel to provide all the action as he drove a superb race to recover from an early incident to eventually finish a superb P4.

Having to pit early following accident damage on the opening lap, Vettel would be in inspired mood all race as he worked his way through the pack in fine style to bring home some valuable championship points on a day when everything went against the Ferrari team.

Dropping as low as 18th position in the early running of the race, Vettel would run long on his first set of tyres following his stop and showed superb racecraft as he pushed his way back into contention. Particular note should be paid to his fight with the two Force India drivers during the closing stages of the race, as sheer determination and bravery allowed the German to make his way past Esteban Ocon for what was then fifth place.

Unfortunately teammate Kimi Räikkönen would have another difficult race with mechanical issues, eventually limping his Ferrari car home in a relieving seventh position at the flag.

With a full points score from Canada Hamilton now finds himself just 12 points behind Vettel heading into the next race at Baku.

In all fairness LH was in a class of his own all weekend. Unbeatable this time.
Very disappointing that MV retired so early, looked extremely competitive up to that point.
Vettel did very well to finish in 4th. Great championship battle brewing up.

Mclaren Honda awful season is hidding Red Bull horrible season.
Pretty much every race, either Max or Ricciardo have reability problems. Very bad indeed. The team was expected to challenge for the Championship. Just horrible.

Lewis perfect. Vettel did well to recover. Amazing Force India.
And bravo Perez!! I have TOTAL respect for a driver that clash head on with those ridiculous team orders. FFS, the guys are fighting on track, no pit stops left to do to anyone, let them race! This thing "let him pass and if this happens he let you past again...bla bla bla"....want the position? take it fair and square.

Honda should give enough money to buy Mercedes PU to Mclaren, and get out from F1 right now.
They mess up 2 great drivers in F1 history, and are destroying talented rookie driver.

Nothing is going better since 2015.
I'm very disappointed.
