That sort of moves are quite rare these days. Maybe he has to prove his abilities for a season or two longer before F1 teams are even starting to consider. And even then you got to have ridiculous piles of money no matter how good you are.

Both he and Magnussen are Mclaren YDP guys which is interesting.
I expect to see either both or one of them in F1 in the coming years.
As well as Da Costa who probably will join STR next year when Ricciardo moves to Red Bull.

Hulkenberg to Lotus, Sirotkin and Bianchi or Van Der Garde to Sauber, Magnussen to Marussia if Bianchi goes and Rossi to get a race seat if Van Der Garde goes.
