Worst first corner ever. Why can't the start be the downhill straight?

Please, don't do that! That's exactly the same attitude as creates really stupid rules to fit really stupid drivers. IMVHO there's no such thing as a dangerous corner or a dangerous road; I really hate (with a passion) it when people go on and on and on about how 'dangerous' a piece of track is or how a certain stretch of dual carriageway is the most' dangerous' in Britain... It's not bloody dangerous, it's the drivers and their attitudes to driving through that particular area that are dangerous! If racing drivers, as a whole, weren't so Hell bent on win, win, win no matter what, got to get ahead, go, go, go and all this rubbish - if they actually had some form of bloody respect for their fellow competitor, like they USED to, in the old days, these kind of incidents could well be avoided, but no, it's all based on greed and it's stupid.

I've sat up in race control when two drivers have been disciplined and hearing some of the tripe that comes out of their mouths is astounding! One guy was asked, by an official: "What does a yellow flag mean, tell me what it means?" To which he replied "Uuuuhhhmmm, it means I can't overtake?" He actually ASKED that! These guys are let loose on a track or circuit with thousands of pounds worth of top-spec equipment, to dice with death along with other men and women and routinely take the lives of countless bystanders into their own hands... And they can't even remember what a yellow flag means?

I say we're letting any old douchebag on a circuit these days and it's frightening, especially when the only thing between you and them, at times, is a 5'x5' piece of twill-weld and a patch of (really slippery) grass. These guys need to learn some respect for:

1. The lives of spectators, marshals and other rescue/recovery personnel and their fellow competitors.
2. The machines they operate (the tools of their trade...).
3. The efforts of their teams.
and 4. Their own lives. I put that bit last, because so few seem to value that, if any of the rest!

Oh, and before anyone screams "ARMCHAIR ENTHUSIAST!" at me, I'm not, I've been on the bank, in the pits and in RC enough times to know what I'm blabbering on about. These kids need to learn some manners and respect.
