It's a very good "illusion". The nose is actually not steep down, it's pretty much the same height all over.

Yep, is fairly easy to see in this picture don´t you think?
It declines slightly but is more or less vertical.
It is! However, many including myself, don't really see it without that closeup
Hold cntrl then scroll with your wheel on the mouse. If you have chrome you can zoom in as much as you like

I just can't seem to help but feel they are missing the point of "lowering the nose".
Why just not making it go down normally ?
From what i've read, you want feed the underside of the car which in turn goes around the sidepods and through the diffuser.
So a lower nose would make more air travel over the car or in that area which isn't as efficient.
I think the trend started in 09 or thereabouts.
Oh well...
