this is one of the worst daytona 500's ever, this isnt the first time they've had this problem so why dont they check the tracks BEFORE the race. Absolutely pathetic
well if you think they have it empty after nascar left, then you are wrong
they have many small events on the daytona and daytona is open everyday for visitors....tours etc (i had a chance to look go there for a small personal tour about 9 years ago....)
and the Richard Petty experience also goes there (people pay some money to drive a couple of laps in stock cars at 160 mph....
and repaving the track from now till july is to short of a schedule to do that considering a track of this size......so only after summer race they can do it
welll they said it also
last couple of weeks was really cold wet weather in Daytona........in Florida as whole actually...........freezing, lots of rain and some snow since ages there. And that is a place where winter is usually between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius
and there is still water below that asphalt.
so I think they will patch repave that small area for the Pepsi 400 in july and repave the whole track after that
yes thats what they sayed after the pepsi 400 it will closed for complete repaveing but to be honest
they had last year already problems with the taramac so they could have done it already last year
and that drivers are complaining it will be to fast cuz of more grip its not true, they can always use
taramac with less grip comes down to the mix they use
