RDTCC 2008 - Official League Documents (merged)

All race times are listed in the WTCC Rules and Regulations here:
http://forum.racedepartment.com/wtcc-news/3954-download-wtcc-rules-regulations.html

We will also update these times in the Briefing Documents prior to each event. The Briefing Documents are found here:
http://forum.racedepartment.com/wtcc-news/3945-download-briefing-incidents.html

Please note that all times are listed in GMT, and it is the drivers responsibility to make any necessary conversions to their local timezone, including any Daylight Saving Time adjustment.

To help with timezone conversions we recommend the following:

Yep.. I think it is better shown times allways in GMT and those who have DLS know to deal with it, imo. Darn! Here, where i stand, the race start 01:00. Normaly i will be guite drank by then:)

Just to be pedantic Yoeri, but GMT never changes, it is the standard reference time. The effect of daylight saving simply means that local times may vary by one hour compared to GMT.

In effect you are right. But I think people experience GMT as one hour earlier in stead of their own time one hour later. That's why I put it that way.

As far as I know DST is global, with the exception of China and Japan and some smaller islands in the Pacific.

'Fraid not Yoeri. In Australia for instance we are all over the place.
On the East coast, NSW, VIC, Tas, have DST but QLD (where I live) we don't have DST at all. DST for the East coast ends this weekend (thank goodness so now all of East Coast Australia will be Eastern Standard Time again).

The only way to avoid confusion is to quote all race times in GMT and to use well respected Time Zone Converters to calculate the local time. I strongly recommend you update the Format and Schedule to reflect the new GMT times.

So to summarise using your examples from the top post.

Races will start at 21.00 GMT

That converts to the following:

CST - Central Standard Time (Chicago, Dallas, Mexico City) - 16.00

CET - Central European Time (Berlin, Paris, Rome, Algiers) - 23.00

AEST Australian Eastern Time (Sydney, Melbourne, Vladivostok) - 7.00

The most reliable time zone converter I have found is this one:
