WATCH: Nordschleife Comparison In GT7, Forza, Rennsport & ACC

The Nürburgring-Nordschleife is one of the most highly-regarded circuits in real and sim racing. We compared the depicitions of the Green Hell in Gran Turismo 7, Forza Motorsport, Rennsport, and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

There is no denying that the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is a big deal in sim racing. When it finally came to Assetto Corsa Competizione, the title hit a new player peak. And more recently, it was one of the centerpieces of Rennsport's Open Beta update, which resulted in a very good-looking recreation of the 24-hour layout, if you ask us.

Most popular racing games and sims these days feature the Nordschleife, so we wanted to compare the different versions in Gran Turismo 7, Forza Motorsport, Rennsport and ACC. All of them feature both the circuit and the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II (almost - Forza's R8 is the Evo I version).

Of course, visuals, sounds and driving experience are all different in the titles, with each one offering their own advantages and disadvantages.

I think if every one would write "feels better", a lot of the arguing about nothing would vanish.
Every one is right in preferring what they prefer, of course what they prefer feels "better" to them. Does not mean it is "better" to anybody else, unless they prefer it as well, of course. :D

I completely agree...

There's a lot of people out there who prefer cars that allow you to feel like a rock star, others think you should always be able to drive race cars with the same driving style that you can a GT3... And then of course there are those who have fallen for the "race cars are easy to drive" marketing of the past decade or so...

And they'll claim the physics that gives them those feelings is the best and than all hell breaks loose... If only they had used "it feels better to me" then those discussions wouldn't exist...

I know I don't have the skills to push many cars to the limits in real life, so I like a good middle ground between forgiving and no need for TC or ABS and something that bites you hard for driving like a hoon...

But I also like the maths and set up adjustments to follow what would happen in real life... Which is why AC wins over ACC for me...

As for this video... It's missing the best options for visuals and for driving...

This is 100% quantifiably untrue. If you're not just trolling, you clearly don't understand how the 'physics engines' in AC and ACC work. Maybe what you're saying is you just prefer 'the feel' of AC over ACC.
no, i have played both extensively. acc was made for a different graphics engine, and they couldnt get the physics to translate so went for a "safe" almost simcade feel. acc is more simple and easy traction contol and only paddle shifts, this makes for hunting for hundredths of seconds easier, but the physics are not there, the cars are too easy to drive. even vanilla AC is more challenging and more realistic feeling... i think players in 2024 have got used to too many mods in AC, some of which are not very good compared to original AC content.
