Suzuki GSXR 750 1 Debuts In Assetto Corsa

When you think of Assetto Corsa, you probably don't think about motorbikes. However, OverTake.gg modder hungrysnorlax has created a Suzuki GSXR 750 1 for the most customizable title in modern sim racing!

Whilst the Suzuki GSXR 750 isn't the first bike in Assetto Corsa. The GSXR is, however, the first available for free on OverTake.gg (That doesn't have a sidecar attached). The persisting problem with bikes in Assetto Corsa is that they often behave like cars.

For example, when you spin and fall on a motorcycle in real life it is more often than not, a spectacular crash. However, in this mod and many others, you spin like you would in a car.

Bike and Rider Model

What makes this Suzuki special in the world of bikes in Assetto Corsa is that it shares a platform with another bike mod for a Honda NR 750. This means that competition between the two is very close and makes for great racing!

This mod comes with impressive leaning physics and a fully modelled custom rider that isn't based on the normal Assetto Corsa driver. A real breakthrough in terms of bike mods for Assetto Corsa.

The Suzuki GSXR model's physics are very impressive. The mod creator does credit another modder for some assets used, takeyoh. The credit is just for sections of the physics so the models and rider creation is entirely down to hungrysnorlax.

This mod is brand new and has so much potential for evolution. The rider and bike itself are currently not available for customization, however, if liveries or re-skins are created, contact hungrysnorlax right here on OverTake to potentially have your creations added to the mod officially!

Silverstone Laptime Challenge

With the release of the Suzuki GSXR, I set a lap time of 50.499 around the Silverstone International Layout. This time was set within ten laps of using the mod. Can you beat it?

I'm not blaming you, I mod and have put monster trucks into AC, done a WSBK Ducati, MotoGP bikes etc. Never released them as its utterly pointless aside from the modding bit as there are games that do it better and at least made for the job.

I just think a part of it is people not wanting to buy other titles so want AC to do everything, which i think is a bit sad when many of these games can be picked up for cheap in steam sales.

I'm just getting into Euro truck sim 2 and why in gods name would someone get a truck mod with car physics and want to drive it in AC. I don't get it at all.
That is all i am saying, not aimed at you personally, more aimed at the article and what AC has become, a money grabbing cash cow because a fool and their money is easily parted.
I think a big part of it is the ease of mods. There aren't many games that have the sheer amount of customization and selection of choices that are drag and drop. Many people don't even know what a zip file is, they just know it makes a mod work. I agree with the money thing. Too many games have become cash grabs. I'll never charge for a mod. Even if it took me 30hrs or just 2. Ive been making mods for games as long as I can remember being able to turn on a computer. It's a hobby of mine. I probably make things for games more than play them. So I'll likely keep making bikes for Assetto just because I enjoy it. Even if it's a gimmick to some people. Hayabusa 1300 is next

Yep i do the same, i have modded so much into AC, does it not annoy you to make a mod then see someone uploading it somewhere else under a patreon sub?
That part of it stinks.
Anyway good luck with it all. Where i think AC works for bikes is in the CM showroom, that is where i mod in bikes to see them in there and take shots. Rarely ride them on the roads if ever.

I did get like i say monster trucks in and an arena, but after messing with it and owning Beamng and a monster truck game it was sort of pointless...

Good try, but ..
I deleted the mod but hoping perhaps you can keep working on it, perhaps the key physics. All motorcycle games are games not sim because the player directly control the steering and lean. If you ride a motorcycle/bicycle and understand how these things turns, which starts with counter-steering which makes the bike lean, and then throttle and handlebar control the bike's motion. I read that GP-bikes and perhaps MX-bikes actually simulate that. If you are able, can you see if you can make a motorcycle in AC behave like that?
I do not know if it is possible, but I can dream..

im not sure that there is much I can do. I am willing to try though! I will see if I can make them better in any way.

The physics or mechanics for 2-wheel bikes is a mystery for most even for season riders themselves, and completely foreign for nearly all in the world of game/sim. I am a life long cyclist and some time motorcyclist, also been in Superbike racing school on Riverside raceway, back in those days. (also pls read Twist of a wrist by Keith Code.) What should be recognized is that, a bike turns by "counter-steer".
It is evidence that at high speed negotiating the esses, turn 2 through 5, the rider much push the bar deliberately and forcefully to opposite direction to the intended turn direction. The bike must be induced into a lean by counter-steer, then once leaned over the bar can be steered into the turn. But it is the counter-steering that controls the bike, that and the throttle.
From what I know the only one program attempts to duplicate such mechanism, is GP Bikes, gp-bikes.com (and I think Mxb). It is also known to be challenging, perhaps more so than riding a real motorcycle, since the forces of the bar does not gets to be replicated and there is little feel when one try to control the bar. I read that people falls easily almost like once a lap.
As an enthusist, I do hope this game become AC for mc. But it is not. It is actually available in Steam store. Please spread the words. Cheers!
gp bikes boring mx bikes even more sbs not boring keith code super super boing. pc bike games pretty much on par with software GP500 from microprose abou best racing game ever then. alot has do with the design software today its a mess.

All I desire from bikes in AC, is for someone to make a current era MotoGP bike, with GTA-level handling, and decent ai.
I'm not looking for GP Bikes-level complexity lol.
