For an entire week, all of RaceRoom was free to access, as Sim racers got the opportunity to try any piece of content in all modes the sim has to offer, completely free of charge. Now, KW Studios has another treat for anyone who has found new favorites during the Free Access period - namely up 50% in discounts during the RaceRoom Summer Sale! The sale starts on Monday, June 26th and lasts until July 13th at midnight CEST.

The free-to-play sim comes with a selection of free content, but has much more to offer: Over 200 cars and more than 50 circuits, most with multiple configurations, await sim racers. Some of them are rarely or not at all found in other sims, but still a great (and sometimes very challenging) experience, as our list of five tracks to try during the Free Access period shows.

For the 2023 Summer Sale, all content is available at a 50% discount, and all packs will have a further discount of 25% applied. This means that even the Premium Pack, which includes every car and track released in RaceRoom to date, will not break your bank at just 7500 vRP, the sim's in-game currency. This means that all RaceRoom content can be had for just €50 if you grab the vRP via redeem code in the RaceRoom store.

The Summer Sale is also a good opportunity to jump into RaceRoom's ranked seasons if you were on the fence about buying the necessary content. The Mazda MX5 Cup, the KTM GTX Trophy and the GT3 Pro Series are aimed at different skill levels of sim racers, and the former two still have three rounds left at Road America, Brno and the Nürburgring-Nordschleife - the GT3 Pro Series is even yet to hold its first round at Most.

Now that people have mentioned it, the lack of price reduction of bundles for those who already have a fair bit of content is obviously very wrong and even makes me wonder if this is legal - to try and sell something essentially twice. Obviously they should do what Steam does in that circumstance, and take away the cost of any owned content within that bundle and just charge the remainder. Just shows how little they care about their quality of service and their customers in general.

Edit: I take back the above a little... After looking at the Premium Pack WITHOUT logging in the price for me is £63.97, but when I log in the price went down to £56.55, so it's recognised something. I have 16 cars and 2/3 of the tracks, so maybe that's what made the difference?

Edit 2: So I just bought the premium pack even though I had many frustrations during this past week's free testing. I plan to upgrade from my G29 this year so hopefully RRE's FFB will be better then, and I'll have to just work around car / track combos that cause race crashes / problems. After testing Assetto Corsa further last night I got the FFB & graphics to comfortably exceed that of RRE's, but I was somehow 4 seconds a lap off of 90% AI around Watkins Glen which was baffling, and I already found RRE's AI pace to be perfectly balanced and challenging, which is priority really. As for buying RRE Premium Pack, the checkout process stated that I already owned 11% of the content and seemingly took that into account with pricing (so forget what I said above). I got the already discounted price of £56.55 down further to £39.99 by buying VRP elsewhere, so not only do I now have all (current) content I also have a bit under 900 VRP left in my account / wallet for future content. Therefore the pricing concerns mentioned earlier on seems to not be the case, and you'll seemingly only get charged for what you don't yet own.

VR performance is shockingly bad for me, so I'll pass. I do love the car selection though and enjoyed my very limited time on the sim. Hope they can update the engine at some point but I imagine that's a long way away.

I was actually hoping for a bit more of a discount on the packs. 50 € is still a lot to ask for what is in big parts old content (Sorry, my money doesn't grow in the garden). I mean, some of the cars/tracks must be there for years, no ?

Although I own the vast majority of the content on R3E thanks to a prior sale, the truth is that AMS2 & DX11 run so much better than R3E & DX9 on my relatively old system (powered by an Intel i5-2500K and GTX 1070 Ti). I really love the complete, official DTM seasons and tracks available in R3E, but the sim simply runs so poorly in comparison (on my particular setup, at least) that it just isn't worth it. If I had a stronger CPU to help bridge the divide in performance, I would indeed continue to enjoy its excellent offerings. R3E remains outstanding value for money.

I recently made the jump from i7 3770 (4 core 3.9Ghz) & GTX 980 to i7 11700 (8 core 4.9Ghz) & RTX 2080Ti and can play Raceroom 4K max graphics 4xAA 60 fps and the CPU isn't remotely taxed at all and GPU is around 70-80%, utilisation, but the game still looks dated and more weirdly the AA seems broken (it's terrible). Maybe it's my nVidia settings but the image quality (when played on 65" screen 140cm away) is very rough. AMS2 looks way better, so point being is even when you get past optimisation issues, there's still a clear divide with image quality between the two titles (for me anyway).

Is the sale not started yet? See the premium packet still for 9999vrp, not 7500vrp, am I missing something?
If you hover over the premium price, it shows you the price in vrp. I have some of the content, but it's showing up as 6800 vrp for me.

Just checked in. Still can't buy the Premium Pack again to easily top up content.

I believe that the price depends on which content you already own for that pack, so it'll vary from one person to the next. I had 11% of the games content and I just bought the premium pack for around 6,600 VRP (maybe a bit more, I can't remember) but I now have just under 900 VRP left in my wallet after the Premium Pack going from a 7,500 VRP starting point.

My Premium Pack purchase was a very slow process and the website even stated it had a server error during the checkout process, I suspect from a time-out due to how slow it was, but I just took everything very slowly and was very patient in waiting for anything to load and respond to mouse clicks, and I successfully got through the process in a few minutes. Even the game itself is very slow to load and function through the menus as their servers must be working very hard due to the sale starting today.

Ya, I'm used to that with their store. Plus right now it's overloaded with people getting on the sale.

Premium Pack aside, I really don't appreciate the fact that I can't "top off" the GT3 and GT4 packs anymore, with the BMW M4 and McLaren 570S respectively.
Raceroom suggests that I fully own both packs, but when I click on them it shows that I don't have either of these cars (which is correct) and even during the sale KW asks for €6.09 and € 4.99 if I want to purchase the versions with all liveries included.
The On the Edge pack then obviously becomes the better value as it bundles the 570S with the Mazda DPi and the XBow GT2/X.

delete your raceroom account, and rebuy it with new account, I have said it already,
you seem to be leaving out the part where they need a new steam account

unless that has changed and you can re link it afterwards

but in general telling people to rebuy content a second time is madness and dumb, nobody should give their money to a business that provides buying the same thing over and over as the solution

As you obviously have plenty of spare cash floating about how about gifting Raceroom premium packs to the first 10 people who PM you their STEAM IDs. :)

I added all the packs I don't have to the cart and it came out to more than buying the Premium Pack again for full cost.

But of course I'm not sure that all content is in the packs so it might defeat the point of getting all content with the Premium Pack.
