Le Mans Ultimate: 2024 Content Comes In Four Packs, Imola in July

Fans of Le Mans Ultimate can look forward to more 2024 content soon, as the first of four packs is launching in July - including Imola, as Studio 397 and Motorsport Games confirmed.

When Le Mans Ultimate released in early access back in February, the title contained all the cars and tracks from the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship season. But after releasing the BMW M Hybrid V8 in the week leading up to this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, more 2024 season content is set to start rolling out.

With visual confirmation, the Alpine A424 and Lamborghini SC63 Hypercars are on their way onto the platform, as are the GT3 cars that replace the GTE class from 2024 onwards. However, the question was when and how exactly this additional 2024 content would launch. Now, we have a better idea of that, thanks to the LMU July run-down.

Four DLC Packs

The first of four changes to the 2024 WEC schedule from last year is the Imola circuit, and the track will feature in the first DLC releasing at the end of July. The remaining three tracks - Lusail, Interlagos and Circuit of the Americas - seem to be arriving individually in the rest of the DLC pack releases. Considering that two of the three respective rounds at the tracks have not happened yet (the exception being Lusail), this makes sense - the LMU team did scan Imola at the actual WEC round, after all.

The four new Hypercar entries for this year will also be included in these packs, namely the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH-C, the aforementioned Lamborghini SC63 and Alpine A424, and finally the Peugeot 9X8, which saw an extensive rework compared to the 2023 car already in the game. Most prominently, the 2024 9X8 now features a rear wing, as debuted at the 6H of Imola in April.

GT3 After Hypercars Are Complete

After the completion of the 2024 Hypercar grid, the GT3 cars will be making their eagerly-anticipated debut in the sim. These will include the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, BMW M4 GT3, Ferrari 296 GT3, McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2, Ford Mustang GT3, Lexus RC F GT3, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the 2024 Le Mans LMGT3 class-winning Porsche 911 GT3 R (992).

Two of those cars will be added to the platform free of charge to early access players like the BMW M Hybrid V8, whereas the remaining seven - along with the four new hypercars and the four new tracks - will be in paid DLC packs. If you intend to get all four, LMU will have a season pass that can be bought and work out at better value than buying them all individually.

Additionally, liveries for the LMP2 class field from the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans will be added in time to the game. Once we know when the LMU season pass can be bought as well as the first of the four DLC packs themselves, we will keep you updated, of course.

As others have written, it is a bit annoying to start advertising DLCs when the game is still in EA. Let's just say it's not a very good look...

I'll wait for the prices, including the season pass.

People who are seeing this as greedy business really have lost there mind and I can only wish them to work for free aswell and see how much fun it is.
I'm not saying that they are greedy, but they seem very eager to start selling DLCs when the game is still incomplete. I wish we had a more precise timetable about when they plan to release version 1.0. Right now, it still feels like it's version 0.5.

Here is a tip for you: don't buy anything if you don't feel like it or aren't 100 % sure. It's been communicated very clearly what you get in EA and what not. And here is another tip for you: you will be getting additional content for free to be able to race for free against people who own payed DLC cars. And last but not least: they have been selling the game for half the price of a AAA title so far so you are expecting them to gift you more for free and live from thin air?

In my case ive bought it only coz a friend wanted to drive it together.
So, yes... in some way it was my fault coz after the first "friends hype" we didnt played it anymore.
I dont blame the game in that case.

I only do not like that a game in EA state should not offer DLCs before v1.0.
The boring argument (which is not an argument) just simple not to buy it is not an excuse for such devs behavior.
I dont have anything against DLCs but their task is first to finish the game and then they can do what they want.
Well, kinda lesson for the future.
Hope AC Evo will not go same way like this....

It was a mistake to buy this thing....
Unfortunately missed the two weeks period (was under 2h, refund refused).

Game is in EA and now they push already DLCs?
Sorry, thats not the way.
How about to "fill the game with content" but not with DLCs?
Agreed. EA is to build toward 1.0 and all content should be included at no extra cost. They may have just burned my desire to purchase.

Thankfully, AC and AMS2 (content incoming for IMSA though at a DLC cost) have many of the same cars and tracks (AC specifically, though mods can have varying quality and BOP).

You're talking nonsense...Already with the current content you get more than your money's worth. Value for money there is no better even for an EA. 30 euros is 2 fast food... What world do you live ? All work deserves a salary. Instant purchase for me because studio 397 does a wonderful job

DLC while the game is still in early access feels wrong. I was considering a purchase (before this article) but Im starting to wonder what the price of their game/sim would be once they consider it to be out've 'early access'.. This should be a true reflection of a retail price at launch of a complete packaged title - this staggered release approach feels like it allows them an opportunity to raise the pricing of content which in an ideal word should have been included in a standard release.. All depends on the pricing I guess

People have been going in circles about this topic but it won't change anything. This isn't about what feels right or wrong but what's necessary to keep the game 1st of all interesting for the users and 2nd what allows them to get some return of investment. If we were talking a AAA publisher like EA or Ubisoft you might have a point, but not with a niche studio like S397 in a niche market. Building a game like LMU is very expensive. I for one allways thought that the WEC lisence for example included the lisence for all cars and track but that's not the case. So you can imagine how much a project like this costs if you need to lisence everything seperately. And this isn't taking into acount the development costs. I don't know if people are aware of this, but 30 Euro for a product like LMU is a borderline steal for the amount of hours of fun you can get out of it. I can only speak from my own experience, but I work with software on a daily basis that costs over 20k Euro, so be glad we haven't reached such levels and get such a huge amount of choices and fun for the price of a few beer. A 2024 DLC has been on the top of the things requested as soon as the title released. What you read here is a reaction to fan requests.

On top of that, I sometimes feel that many people forget that we are absolutely privileged with this hobby and spoilt for choices. A prime example of 1st world problems ... At the end of the day I don't care what the state the game is in is called. I judge if it is fun or not and the only thing I know for sure is that LMU does quite a few things allready much better than products that have been called 1.0 since years.

Considering the title was 'supposed' to be out in 2023, we have ALL the original promised content at half price. All the 2023 cars(except the beloved Nascar Le Mans car), all the 2023 tracks, all three 2023 classes all the 2023 skins, all the 2023 drivers, all the 2023 teams. Seems like the full game.
2024 and beyond will always be in the form of DLC which is probably cheaper than buying a new full game every year like F1 18,19,20.21.22.23.24.
They will have a difficult time consolidating packages to include the lesser cars like the Issota, Which package do they place that in? Is Alpine a dog on the track but a star in the sim world?

LMU does one thing very well.

It shows just how average the average PC user is .... ( shrugs)

They could not run a chook raffle to save themselves, instead will the blame the chooks :x3:
Shows me the new sim player will buy & support anything, hoping the old sim users are not falling for EA BS with no guarantees these days of a finished polished product let alone a 1.0 release. Amazing since covid ppl will accept anything, oh that's right you cannot offend have to accept.

buying a DLC in LMU is the most desperated move to save a sinking boat. Nobody is forced to buy, but we are forced to admit it's a fail.
The game is full of bugs, without the most common features, and I remember s397 has taken 5 years to change the UI in rF2, dont hope faster developpement for LMU.
It should be a free alpha version access, with all the work to give a working product, nothing else.

Agree with the point made earlier, Steam as a platform should stop companies selling DLC for games when the dev is using Early Access as a shield for their incompetence or lack of capabilities.

Otherwise its up to the customer base to reject this nonsense, and hopefully the way some people have embraced this on Overtake isn't indicative of the wider community.

If we continue to support poor practises, that that's all we will ever get.

Well unless EA gets supported what hope is there ?

People need a reality check, like, they are sitting on a pile of money.

AC at steam sale price would be making more ! IE: see 3000+ reviews in last month alone.
Compare that to LMU 's 400 + of which 4 out of 10 won't recommend it.

P.S. rF2 has 30+ :coffee:

There should be an expectation of Integrity, Its not about hope. They are broke due to their own business practises, and the fallout should be theirs to bear.

The delusion is the expectation that we should support a lack of integrity so someone else can maintain an income stream.
