Polyphony Digital has revealed all of the additions that Gran Turismo 7 players can come to expect when they update their game on 3 October.
Update
: Gran Turismo 7 update 1.52 is out now - you can check out the full patch notes below.

After Kazunori Yamauchi's signature silhouette imagery that is posted on Twitter in the lead-up to a new Gran Turismo update, we can now confirm which new cars are coming. Polyphony has confirmed all three cars: the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR '04, 2024 Nissan GT-R Premium edition T-spec, and 2016 Toyota Hiace Van DX.

But there is more that players can try in update 1.52 out tomorrow, on 3 October.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.52 Additions

Firstly, for those trying to complete the Extra Menus, there is a new one themed around Audi cars. It will require getting the TT Coupé 3.2 quattro '03, the Quattro S1 Pikes Peak '87 and the R18 TDI '11. Additionally, there will be three new sets of events added to World Circuits: Sunday Cup at Tokyo Expressway, Nissan GT-R Cup at Circuit de Sainte-Croix and Evolution Meeting at Kyoto, Monza and Colorado Springs, all involving the three new cars.

Next up for fans of the new advanced Sophy AI, two more tracks will have the option to race with them. Brands Hatch GP and the fictional but popular Dragon Trail Seaside tracks are getting the Sophy AI treatment. Finally, a new location will open up in Scapes, Chicago.

Overall, the October update will be modest compared to July's substantial update, which added five new cars along with the returning Eiger Nordwand circuit and physics changes.

As detailed in the patch notes, update 1.52 also adds new engine swaps for cars such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition and Toyota 86 GT, along with some small physics tweaks affecting "measures for front lift during cornering" and "measures for oversteer during braking."

I'm a huge fan of Gran Turismo "vibes" their love for cars, the way they present stuff, their menu music, their GT liveries, their Nordschleife track and all those little big things that make Gran Turismo so special.

But I'm definitely NOT a fan of their "start last catch the rabit while going 4 second faster than AI" scheme. Also giving a name to an AI improvement and that hud filled with smiley faces... Whenever I see that I facepalm :D

yeah lol I agree this gets old real quick, but on the positive side maybe it forces people to learn to drive in traffic? in an ideal world of course!

Even though I have little interest in Gran Turismo these days all I can say is that it's incredibly refreshing to read a non AC Evo article.
I started driving GT7 a year ago and the experience in VR is one of the best in the whole driving genre, all things considered.

Unfortunately those little smiley faces are arguably the most compelling AI we've got in sim/sim-esque racing right now, albeit that's an indictment on offline racing as a whole. Idk how Sophy came about, but if Polyphony are open to license out the tech, every sim out there needs to pony up for it.

And hide the smileys while they're at it.
