On day one of ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024, OverTake had the chance to drive AC EVO - and we even got to live stream it. The recording of the full stream is now back on our YouTube channel!

Tune in to the video above to watch our team turn some laps at Imola in a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, a Hyundai i30 N at Brands Hatch and finally, an Alpine A110 S at Mount Panorama.

Along with the now confirmed Mount Panorama, there are also glimpses at the new UI and HUD, plus many more details that we have found out by being on the ground at the event in the Fanatec booth. Our chat with Game Director Davide Brivio also resulted in a few interesting features being confirmed.

Stay tuned to both the OverTake YouTube channel and our website to find out more about AC EVO when more information becomes available.

What are you most looking forward to within Assetto Corsa EVO? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our forums below!

I'm ready for early access phase. Steam account has credit. Just as it was in AC1, it's a chance for early adopters to shape feedback on bugs/etc. Those who don't like what they see, can stick with AC1+mods. For everyone moaning about mods, Kunos will survive just fine without your purchase. This title will be bloody huge on consoles, and I say that as a PC user. Everyone is happy.

Forcing modder's to behave legally/ethically, with regards to copyright/ownership is a good thing. I'm interested in free roam, never was before. If the game wasn't still clearly in the bug-fix/optimization/code building phase it wouldn't have been pushed back. A shame lots of other developers aren't so thoughtful.

I've owned AMS2 from the beginning, I've installed it 2 or 3 times after updates and it's still not good enough for my standards. I await 1.6. So, for 4.5 years in my mind it's been substandard. People have short memories. Thank god Kunos have shaped the only genre I use, coz there ain't many other developers with the combined passion/talent and success from their results. We probably won't see a like-for-like developer until Marcel's engine is finished.

EA will have its challenges, just as AC1 did. It's clear to me, that it's already in a way better health than AC1 was when launched. Enjoy your driving, and if you prefer AC1+mods, go boot your game and be happy that you don't need to update your 8 year old PC.

My concern is that with what i have seen so far, i really don´t see what this sim will have to offer more that what we have in asseto corsa with the fantastic panel of mods already available.

But i am about sure about at least one thing.
Rennsport is already dead as soon as assetto evo will be available.
your AC is outdated about sound and FFB and physics, it's time to move dude, I love so much the improvement from ACC, I'm sure AC Evo will be better

And the questions get asked instead like: "does it have snow" "does it have split screen" and other nonsense that nobody cares about

Snow was raised in the pre-footage questions for ADAC Expo section at Overtake. One mans meat, is another mans poison. Marco has already said there will be much more news and updates before launched. Maybe you should hit Marco/Kunos up via social media channels.

It will have advanced physics, a full workable day night and weather system, an improved graphics and lighting system and a brand new slick UI, plus will allow mods too, so it’s quite a decent sounding improvement on first views imo

Correctly speaking it's not being offered yet, not for another 3 months.
And you must be new to the terms pre-alpha and early access.
Ha, no ? I was on Steam since 2013 so i am fully aware of what Early Access is, but i want to buy a game, not just a tech demo, so i will be waiting until 1.0 comes out. Those 5 tracks will wear out their welcome extremely quickly seeing as those are in 99% of other racing games anyway. But you must be new to criticism of early access, that is not a shield. You will never get a second first impression and my impression is already meh.

In the livestream many asked about what's specifically supported in VR. Overtake refused to ask about this. They didn't want to ask if OpenXR 1.1 works, if it has quad views, if eye tracked foveated rendering works etc. Even while the chat was spammed with this.
Those are great questions but I can't imagine they would go into too much detail there at the moment, they did say VR is supported with a big smile, I was asking on Discord heavily haha :) If original AC is anything to go by we're in for a treat! Foveated would be immense for the PSVR2, let's hope they have that trick up their sleeve!

3 months is nothing after so many many years of development. Dont expect any miracles in such a short timeframe. That they called it pre-alpha is concerning with the release scheduled at 16 January. He is right to express his concerns.
I'm not the one expecting miracles on DAY 1 of early access

Good for you, that's exactly the way to go. If you don't wanna deal with the annoyances of early access, best just wait for 1.0 release....might as well save your complaints until then too ;)

Yeah on the one hand I do agree just ripping a track from another game or mod is a bit questionable but on the other I really dont like track owners and car brands (to a lesser extent i think these have their own incentive to get their digital cars out there...) collecting evermore money just from "licensing". Id be curious to know what the fraction of money is you pay for a track DLC to the track owners.

So been watching and reading a lot about this today.

Everyone seems to agree that the core of the game is 100% there. It's a simulation, it has great FFB and physics.

That is literally the most important part of any simulator, everything else can be fixed by time.

I was a bit sceptical about this whole progression mode but honestly it makes sense in a lot of ways.

  • Freeroaming is very popular juding by all the AC mods.
  • They can grab a big market share of more casual racers like Forza/GT types people
  • Increase longevity in the game
Also I really hope that the freeroaming mod is locked to your progression. So say everyone starts out with a junker slow car and then you progress to buy better and faster cars, and hopefully also lock that mode to only road legal cars.

So the person who been grinding the most can ride around in a Ferrari F80 and the guy who just started is sitting in a Dacia or whatever.

That would really get people to play a lot.

But racing wise I hope everything is unlocked so one can race anything.

Honestly, im hyped and I have a hard time seeing how this can flop. It should be better than AC in all ways!

Well, the presentation is there for us to see and judge what we see and those f*cking start lights cought my attention aswell. They have these nice detailed tracks and it's clear to see that they set a new benchmark with ACE in that regard. Tracks where you could easily work with real start light systems and LED flag system - something that they do in other places - and then they put that NFS stuff right infront of your face. Nothing wrong with judging that. I still think people should be fully aware of what they buy once EA releases in January and treat it as such, but 3 months to fix the poping objects and shadows is indeed not alot of time considering this graphics engine has been in development for four years. Will also be very interesting to see how the engine works with different hardware and system specs on big tracks with big grids considering this is a staged environment.

Anyway, we will see what the sim offers in three months. There is alot of potential obviously, but also some things that aren't to my taste. I mean, you will allways have Kunos fans who think that the studio can never set a foot wrong, but I think there are goods an bads as with any other platform. Long way to go ...

It's not the ripping, it's what you do with it :coffee:
Compare GPL and AC modding community and their methods.
Enough said.

Can you give me the solution for the running shadows in LMU please, my 4090 must be stupid ! Doesnt cease to amaze me how most of you jump onto **** that seems to be a concern when not from your sim of choice but then forgive every fricking thing and invent the most absurd reasons for obvious crap in others ..... also explain to me how LMU that looks much worse then ACC requires more resources then ACC .... in the resolutions that matter not in the crappy full hd single monitors most people comment saying they have a smooth experience in with a 1080 ...

A bit? To be fair, whether you, I, or they (modder's) agree or not is irrelevant. You deserve your opinion. But nobody forces modder's to mod. It's their own free will to do it or not. They also do it based on whatever the financial terms are. At any point, they can choose not to bother. Intellectual property/brand licensing is not there to be stolen. I'm amazed more mods have not seen legal action.

If you made a song at home, released it, and heard it playing in a busy shopping mall without payment to you that's no different to a modder stealing content from Kunos/Aston Martin/Brands Hatch etc. Theft is theft. My guess is licensing is dearer than you likely imagine. For over 10 years Raceroom never afforded to license Ferrari or Lamborghini cars.

No Corporate company does anything for free. Hence why Fanatec's new Bentley wheel costs €1,999! The flip side of licensing also is, for you as the consumer - if you dislike that practice you can just not buy track DLC from the owners you dislike.

"Early access" after 5+? years of development and 3 months before it's released as final? :D

Let's hope that they see it as an issue. Because with ACC the shadow traveling was never fixed. And you cannot say that ACC is still in early access :)

where is the poping in and running shadow everyone is moaning about ? my eyes must be biased ....
At Imola. The trees in the distance after the first few corners pop in massively. It's really bad.

And in ALL videos you can see shadows traveling in the mirrors and you see also objects disappearing constantly.

Hopefully these things could be fixed with some graphical tweaks, the rest looks quite good.

It was also said about ACC. Well, I uninstalled that title because even with the 4090 I couldn't get it to look right compared to AC/AMS2. So these questions are very important in my opinion, we need to know if it's build on the OpenXR 1.1 standard with all bells and whistles enabled, then we're good, otherwise we can forget about good performance.

How about naah, they will be asking for money on the day of early access release.
Game should be fully criticized from the day they are money for it.
Because people like you that tell others to stop criticizing is why we are getting worse games. Should i stop bullying the megacorporation to not hurt their feelings ?
