Automobilista 2: Incoming DLC Will Have Free Trial Period

With the big v1.6 update, plenty of new content is coming to Automobilista 2. Players who are on the fence about the DLC get to try it for free.

Reiza Studios is looking to take another big step forward in Automobilista 2 with version 1.6 - but the update does not just come with improved physics, a new UI, and plenty of other interesting details, but also with a lot of new content. In total, three new tracks and 13 new cars, plus two modified versions of pre-existing ones, are set to launch alongside the update.

That is a lot to play with - and the tracks as well as nine of the cars will come as paid DLC. While the cars will be split into two packs each at €/$9.99, the price for the track pack is not known yet, but previous packs of a similar size such as the Historical Track Pack Pt1, were in a similar price range.

For sim racers who want all the new content, that could mean a not insignificant extra investment in the sim. Keep in mind, however, that you can still race on tracks that you do not own in AMS2 as long as someone else hosts the session they are used in online.

The GT4 version of the Audi R8 LMS will be added to AMS2 for free.

As they did with previous DLC packs, Reiza will release these new packs - the Lamborghini Dream Pack Pt1, the Endurance Pack Pt2 and the track pack - with a free trial period. For the debut of the F-HiTech classes representing the 1992 and 1993 F1 seasons or the Endurance Pack Pt1 featuring the first three Hypercars, this was done already, and Reiza Lead Developer Renato Simioni confirmed that this would be the case again.

Sim racers could look forward to "not quite a week but a couple of days" with the new content to see if they like it enough to buy it. Those who are looking to be able to drive every IMSA-related car, both the Lamborghini and Endurance packs will be necessary - the former contains the SC63 and Huracán GT3 EVO2, the latter comes with the Oreca 07 and Ligier JS P217 LMP2 prototypes as well as the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R GTD cars.

Will you be making use of the free trial period, or is the new content for Automobilista 2 v1.6 an automatic buy for you anyway? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AMS2 forum!

Agree with many here, Reiza is one of the main studios I support for all content regardless of price. They are one of the few that have online AI for dedicated servers which really adds a fun dimension to my small racing group. Looking forward to everything they develop and the tweaks they make to the game as a whole.

Then you dont see Teddy in every single AMS2 post...
Anyone breaking the rules will be dealt with, if we miss something then usually it gets reported and we deal with it. There are seasoned mods on here, and I think they're doing a great job, but it's a fine line between allowing certain posts and not. Best thing we can all do is ignore overt negativity and goading, that's the right way to resolve it most of the time.

jaysus, cane we just ban that TeddyBearx twonk laughing at every positive post FFS. he/she/it is SUCH a fecking troll in EVERY sense of the word.

Butt hurt are we ? lol
Ban someone for laughing ? lmao
I never seen you in rFactor 2 news complaining about the same types of peeps ?

At least for me I have never seen Teddy resort to emotions and swearing like you just have ?

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

You are the ones that gave people emoji to respond.

If he wants to laugh let him laugh !

It's his God Given Right to be happy.
Teddy in fact keeps his emotions in check, also clear and concise and his spelling is impeccable.

:p

Have to respect the DLC free trial period, give people a chance to get behind the wheel and on the tarmac of content you intend to be paid so they can be sure of their choice to partake or forego. Pretty admirable. Also allows them to release updates on a Saturday without having to worry about Steam's restrictions on DLC (apparently new DLC cannot be listed on weekends).

Looking forward to experiencing where they've taken AMS2 with 1.6.

As long as it's being dealt with. The trolling is too much at this point. Not really worth investing in a community in this state.

Well yeah, as soon as someone says their sims is 100% you are going to have issue imho .
Like take me ISIMotor has always from SCGT days been my favourite engine, not even debatable.

However I constantly point out rFactor 2 misgivings:
The Good the Bad the Ugly, a face only a mother could love, bugs, glitches, etc.

Buy hey, least I speak my truth both good and bad.
rF2 fanboy won't tell you their sim is perfect.
9 times out of 10 it will be the sheer driving experience that won them over ;)

Anyway, be nice if more could do the same, both sides of the coin.
Then maybe they would not get so much divergence in comments. :barefoot:

People are free to react how they want in posts I don’t see why we would control that, then we need to remove certain reactions as a choice. If someone posts something off then report that, otherwise just ignore :)
It's best to take some people....

I hope Renato is paying attention to the fact that every article for AMS2 gets hit with the same troll with nothing being done about it. I also hope he leaves you guys out of any further updates or access to previews. Lord knows the one you did recently hurt the sim more than helped it. Totally unprofessional, just like the way this site has been running lately. There are better places to get news that don't allow continued trolling by the same person(s) on every article. Teddy the Troll and Durge can have this place all to themselves. I'm sure your advertisers will be happy about that.

I ask you, and everyone else, to avoid this kind of comment, please let us deal with it. Thanks
Note, use the report function if you have an issue, that's what it's there for.
How can I "report" it when someone is laughing at positive posts? I'm sorry but whoever it is is a damn joke and a Toxic troll of the absolute highest order IMO. I mean I've already put them on ignore quite a while ago, but this just took the biscuit, they came in a thread for a game they KNOW they dislike and just laughed at everything positive....how is someone like that tolerated?

Clealry you missed me doing the SAME thing for LMU.......SMFH. I USED to respect you Durge...no more. that "person" is just a toxic troll of the highest order, JUST because he likes the same game YOU like doesn't mean it's acceptable. I have ZERO tolerance for people like that....and I have a LOT WORSE words for them...repugnant springs to mind.

Can we just get back on topic everyone, I don't feel like we should need to police this so much. If someone annoys you click ignore and then really ignore that person! We can't ban people for using a laughing reaction. But I do see where this is going and it needs to stop.

With the risk of getting this comment deleted, but I think it's still worth a try to maybe give also a general advice for the people being annoyed by that one person and asking for people to get banned. Don't forget what kind of door your are opening with this. I also see the same people in every MSG related game threat giving their educated or non educated opinion and never ever would I ask for a ban for those people as long as it's within the rules of this website, eventhough they drop a laughing emoji once in a while with a clear intention of not being funny but annoying - some of them being very vocal here in this threat.

If people really want to make this a better place, maybe they just should clean up infront of their own door. Sometimes it also helps to reflect ...

If the very well know trolls were dealt with by the moderators, we would probably not been off topic to start with

That is regrettable, it is only 2, please let us know if you have any doubts about who those 2are, that need a long, permanent would be better, vacation.
It is your site, you can do as you please, but you might want to reconsider your position, this is really over the top. Allowing open trolling might not be the signal you want to send to your readership.

I think the best course of action isn't temporary banning people. It's rather deleting posts. When someone copies and paste the same derogatory comment from one thread to the next like the banned individual we are talking about did, the deletion is fully deserved and it takes away the fun of causing mayhem and controversy just for the fun of hijacking every thread and triggering people who want to discuss normally.
Deleting the post also takes the fun away from being a jac.....s and is the most likely way to see them finally moving to greener pastures while retaining those who want to discuss constructively.

Stay on topic! The moderator told you to stop with these childish tantrums!

the topic is

No, absolutely not, even if it were a gift.

I see this is now the TeddyBearX thread. I put him on ignore years ago so if you people would stop damn well responding to him, I could forget all about him.. but no.. here we are. More posts highlighting his idiocy that I cannot ignore unless I put everyone on my ignore list and what fun would a forum be then?. Just put him on ignore and stop responding to his crap. He will never be moderated out that's been proven over and over year on year. Yeah, pity all his emoji responses aren't ignored by the Forum software as well if he is on your ignore list, but at least not responding to his crap would help those who already have him on their ignore list.

...kind of incredible how spun up people get on these forums especially WRT to AMS2, maybe folks could chill out a bit, anyway, I love GT4 and getting the Audi GT4 will add to an already nice GT4 stable on AMS2, which is just great...I think all of the major race SIMS I have and enjoy on my PC with my hardware setup (no doubt different than other gamers rigs, and my very average skill level) have gotten very much better over the last year or so, in fact to me we are in a golden age of SIM racing and I am just mostly thankful for all the variety and excellent content we have access to...all the major titles have their plus and minus features but all are worthwhile in my book and damn fun in their own right...I will happily buy this AMS2 content when it comes out and I like AMS2 very much for many specific reasons I will leave out here for brevity, but none of these sims are worth getting bent out of shape about, in my book, and I am happy they all are improving and enjoyable and have their own very positive attributes to enjoy...
