With the big v1.6 update, plenty of new content is coming to Automobilista 2. Players who are on the fence about the DLC get to try it for free.

Reiza Studios is looking to take another big step forward in Automobilista 2 with version 1.6 - but the update does not just come with improved physics, a new UI, and plenty of other interesting details, but also with a lot of new content. In total, three new tracks and 13 new cars, plus two modified versions of pre-existing ones, are set to launch alongside the update.

That is a lot to play with - and the tracks as well as nine of the cars will come as paid DLC. While the cars will be split into two packs each at €/$9.99, the price for the track pack is not known yet, but previous packs of a similar size such as the Historical Track Pack Pt1, were in a similar price range.

For sim racers who want all the new content, that could mean a not insignificant extra investment in the sim. Keep in mind, however, that you can still race on tracks that you do not own in AMS2 as long as someone else hosts the session they are used in online.

The GT4 version of the Audi R8 LMS will be added to AMS2 for free.

As they did with previous DLC packs, Reiza will release these new packs - the Lamborghini Dream Pack Pt1, the Endurance Pack Pt2 and the track pack - with a free trial period. For the debut of the F-HiTech classes representing the 1992 and 1993 F1 seasons or the Endurance Pack Pt1 featuring the first three Hypercars, this was done already, and Reiza Lead Developer Renato Simioni confirmed that this would be the case again.

Sim racers could look forward to "not quite a week but a couple of days" with the new content to see if they like it enough to buy it. Those who are looking to be able to drive every IMSA-related car, both the Lamborghini and Endurance packs will be necessary - the former contains the SC63 and Huracán GT3 EVO2, the latter comes with the Oreca 07 and Ligier JS P217 LMP2 prototypes as well as the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R GTD cars.

Will you be making use of the free trial period, or is the new content for Automobilista 2 v1.6 an automatic buy for you anyway? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AMS2 forum!

Agree with many here, Reiza is one of the main studios I support for all content regardless of price. They are one of the few that have online AI for dedicated servers which really adds a fun dimension to my small racing group. Looking forward to everything they develop and the tweaks they make to the game as a whole.

Then you dont see Teddy in every single AMS2 post...
Anyone breaking the rules will be dealt with, if we miss something then usually it gets reported and we deal with it. There are seasoned mods on here, and I think they're doing a great job, but it's a fine line between allowing certain posts and not. Best thing we can all do is ignore overt negativity and goading, that's the right way to resolve it most of the time.

jaysus, cane we just ban that TeddyBearx twonk laughing at every positive post FFS. he/she/it is SUCH a fecking troll in EVERY sense of the word.

Butt hurt are we ? lol
Ban someone for laughing ? lmao
I never seen you in rFactor 2 news complaining about the same types of peeps ?

At least for me I have never seen Teddy resort to emotions and swearing like you just have ?

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

You are the ones that gave people emoji to respond.

If he wants to laugh let him laugh !

It's his God Given Right to be happy.
Teddy in fact keeps his emotions in check, also clear and concise and his spelling is impeccable.

Have to respect the DLC free trial period, give people a chance to get behind the wheel and on the tarmac of content you intend to be paid so they can be sure of their choice to partake or forego. Pretty admirable. Also allows them to release updates on a Saturday without having to worry about Steam's restrictions on DLC (apparently new DLC cannot be listed on weekends).

Looking forward to experiencing where they've taken AMS2 with 1.6.

As long as it's being dealt with. The trolling is too much at this point. Not really worth investing in a community in this state.

Well yeah, as soon as someone says their sims is 100% you are going to have issue imho .
Like take me ISIMotor has always from SCGT days been my favourite engine, not even debatable.

However I constantly point out rFactor 2 misgivings:
The Good the Bad the Ugly, a face only a mother could love, bugs, glitches, etc.

Buy hey, least I speak my truth both good and bad.
rF2 fanboy won't tell you their sim is perfect.
9 times out of 10 it will be the sheer driving experience that won them over ;)

Anyway, be nice if more could do the same, both sides of the coin.
Then maybe they would not get so much divergence in comments. :barefoot:

People are free to react how they want in posts I don’t see why we would control that, then we need to remove certain reactions as a choice. If someone posts something off then report that, otherwise just ignore :)
It's best to take some people....

I hope Renato is paying attention to the fact that every article for AMS2 gets hit with the same troll with nothing being done about it. I also hope he leaves you guys out of any further updates or access to previews. Lord knows the one you did recently hurt the sim more than helped it. Totally unprofessional, just like the way this site has been running lately. There are better places to get news that don't allow continued trolling by the same person(s) on every article. Teddy the Troll and Durge can have this place all to themselves. I'm sure your advertisers will be happy about that.
