A small update has been pushed for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC that brings fixes to tracks and liveries, as well as updates to the balance of performance for select cars.

Steam users will notice a small update applied to ACC the next time they play. Kunos has published a hotfix that will bring minor changes to tracks and liveries, but more notably adjustments to the BoP of GT3 cars.

Balance of performance has been a widely discussed topic since the sim was released, with certain cars being preferred during certain periods.

The BMW M4 GT3 has been a favorite in the GT3 class since its release, and this is among the cars affected by this version 1.8.18 hotfix. In addition to performance balancing, the car now has updated gear ratios.

Version 1.8.18 changelog:
  • Revised wet track limits on various tracks.
  • Minor livery sponsorship updates.
  • BOP tweaks for
    • Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT3
    • BMW M4 GT3
    • Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO2
    • Bentley Continental GT3 2018
    • Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO
    • Porsche 991.2 GT3 R
    • Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO
  • BMW M4 GT3 new gear ratios homologation

Me, disappointed ? May be, a little ...
Perhaps because I can't train full time to reach a decent level
You, my man, are 100% correct!!

Its still bad, marginally better for me thanks to openxr/opencomposite but that just gets you few fps. Maybe fixed foveated rendering will come for the openxr toolbox which should help a bit. I just play rf2 in VR.
One thing you can do to really boost performance is to not use DLSS or FSR in game if you have them enable. Instead you can still run VR rendering at 100% but make sure you lower the regular rendering resolution to 60% to 55%. That made a huge difference for me even with the Reverb G2. Not really a big hit to graphics quality but getting 90fps most of the time.

I'm just enjoying getting the 4 clean laps in each track. Slow going as I only play once or twice a week.

At Spa Francorchamps on Porsche 992 the session restarts itself automatically when I get slightly off the track. Kunos Simulazioni should stop embarrassing themselves with this broken cluster****. 4 years after release and the game is still broken on a fundamental level.

One bug does not make for a "broken cluster****" game that's screwed at a "fundamental level". Seriously... come on.

As BOP tweaks continue to be applied, it makes me think... as ACC reaches end-of-life, is there any chance Kunos might allow players to set their own BOP for dedicated online servers? This is something I've heard some advanced players discussing. Especially for esports series or online leagues, it would be a really great option to have IMO – especially as the devs stop updating and supporting the title.

Go to Steam and read all the reports on v1.8.18 Hotfix. It's an eye-opening experience.
So I learned that the game now crashes to desktop for some people who didn't have issues before. :( Thankfully I haven't experienced that issue. It's unfortunate, and I'm sorry if you're experiencing that instability problem, but it's neither the first nor last time that a seemingly innocuous software update unexpectedly causes problems that a developer needs to fix. Kunos has a solid record of working on their titles, so I would think it'll get fixed promptly. If it's not, then that's reason for criticism, but given Kunos' small size and given the "agile" nature of software development nowadays, I think it's most fair to hold off for a brief period.

I've got a 3060ti and a 12400. In all seriousness what does anyone reckon you need to get this looking as good as AMS2 and hitting 90fps in VR? I've already tried all the config file changes, FSR etc. but I can't get it looking nice. I'm sort of guessing 3080 minimum?

Hi. Thanks for the kind feedback. Please note that in hotlap and hotstint game modes the session automatically resets if you leave the track before the green flag to prevent users exploiting overspeeding on lap start. Please stay between the white lines before the green flag.

How's the VR for ACC these days?
Hopefully this thread I made a while back will help you out, there's a video in there giving you the settings i spent quite a bit of time refining and from the feedback i've got on the video and in the thread it seems to have helped quite a few folks out. Here's the link:

I've also got a video about a massive FPS increase I got just by going from single channel ram to dual, which may seem like an obvious thing but the performance increase was WAY more than I'd expected! Here's a link to that one:
Hope this is of some use to you, I'd love to know if you see a performace increase.

Cheers!
