A month before the Early Access release of Assetto Corsa EVO, we have the chance to exclusively interview Kunos Simulazioni founder Marco Massarutto in a live stream - and to ask him some of your questions!

The sim racing world is full of buzz for Assetto Corsa EVO. Its Early Access release is still a month away, but the recent announcement of AC EVO featuring an open world set in the Eifel surrounding the Nürburgring has kicked the excitement and discussion into overdrive.

From the announcement, many questions arose already, and we want to look for answers for our community. On Tuesday, December 17 at 16:00 UTC, we will sit down with Marco Massarutto live on our YouTube channel as well as our Twitch channel to find out more about the upcoming sim. For that, we have a number of questions from our comment sections already on our list, but we knew there would be more.

This is where you, our community, comes in: We asked for the questions that were burning on your minds the most to try and get as many of them as possible answered by Marco.

We already had the opportunity to chat with the Kunos Co-Founder and Managing Director earlier this year - you can catch up on what Marco told us last time we sat down at SimRacing Expo 2024 via the video embedded above.

Speaking of video: We will have some exclusive Assetto Corsa EVO footage to show you soon that has never been publicly seen before - so we recommend keeping an eye on our website and YouTube as well as social media channels!

How excited are you about Assetto Corsa EVO following everything that is known so far? Let us know in the comments below!

Will it require AVX to run? That is the culprit to why some of us can’t run modern games, even if we’re above all minimal specs.

This "modding system" they want to put into place sounds like more like a closed modding system instead the usual open modding system. It's like Kunos wants final say about what mods are allowed and not allowed.. trust me when I say this.. This will make for a very very bad thing. I don't like the sounds of this one bit!
I guess that depends on the types of mods you're referring too? Currently car mods vary so much in terms of the mod quality, from the interior and exterior quality, the camera views, car physics etc. I personally welcome that there has some kind of benchmark that mods should follow to ensure quality is stays consistent. I'm sure the original AC won't be going anywhere, so the existing modders can continue to use that to showcase their work..

Will cars have ignition and engine starts that can be toggled on and off, even if it's just the race cars?
Oddly enough, the Power & Glory mod for GTR2 considered dashboard click for an animated keyturn and another for start button press, I guess it could be an option... long time ago though, it might have been just on the start screen, either way (again) GTR2 has the optional function of (keyboard) start and ignition in game.

Old games generally had more features, didn’t they?
Unfortunately for the present, yes. rF1 had actually tons of features for replicating rules, even enforcing a parc fermé that forced you to start with same engine and tyres that you used for qualifying.

Thanks for offering up this opportunity Yannick and hi Marko. I love your existing products and was thrilled to see how well received EVO was at the expo. As a Porsche lover I was happy to see the cup cars and as an ACC devotee could you confirm that there will be an SRO component or DLC? And if so will it be expansive enough to cover all of the GT America, Asia, Europe and Intercontinental tracks and cars please?

Hello, please don't forget virtual reality and good management of triple screens, which are essential for many gamers.

Hi Kunos, a great idea for a future development, the Nurburgring is 100 km from Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, you could propose a DLC with a map of the Francorchamps/Spa circuit with the surrounding region which is superb and which would link the Nurburgring map... That would be fantastic ... If the physics of the cars is good, of course, I trust you. Qui vivra verra.

Lol what is this, some kind of age based gate keeping? Why is it a shame? Not everything has to be tailored to you. You can pass things up that you dont like.

-And just so you know, there are a lot of people that are plenty older than you here, who are very eager for this title.
For example, I'm 63 years old and I'm always happy to discover new simulations... I've followed the evolution since the Atari 2600, the Amiga 1000 (first "simu" with Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix premier du nom), the 386, 486, Pentium, online gaming, 3D mapping, steering wheels with FFB, virtual reality!!!!!!! And I'm still amazed to be able to experience all this. It's a pity to often read comments from people who are blazed by whatever we suggest.

Who is Misha, do you mean Misha C. who's crashed customer car? I don't follow. I see headlines OG crashed also
Misha is a youtuber AND a very good driver who rides on the Nordschleife and took part in an ACE promo video where it was snowing, hence the guy's question.

Yup,
I was born a few months after Levegh's terrible accident at Lemans, and I remember things from 8 decades (I do forget what i go into the kitchen for though) and I was in my thirties before I even got a computer... but, life evolves and so do tastes and desires,
I'm Looking forward to this sim as it represents a convergence of motoring pleasures, whether it fulfills them or by how much will only be know in a year or so, as it looks like it'll be an ongoing development process.

1. Are there any other freeroams planned besides the Nurburgring/Eifel as for example part of the DLC?
2. Will it be possible to change the exhaust system (of course with a sound difference, similar to the BMW M4 Akrapovic from AC1)?
3. Are all the cars from Assetto Corsa 1 planned for Assetto Corsa EVO?
4. Approximately how many cars and tracks can we expect in version 1.0 (Full release)?
Saluti dalla Polonia Marco! :)
