Formula One visits the legendary Silverstone Grand Prix circuit this weekend for the 2024 British Grand Prix. One of the most hostile settings for non-native drivers, the Silverstone crowd always cheer on their local heroes to the best of their ability.

Have you recovered from Austria yet? Neither have I. After the controversy between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, the British Grand Prix is the worst possible next event for the Dutchman. Norris heads into this weekend with a strong home crowd backing. Verstappen however, as he is well used to by now, heads to a hostile environment at Silverstone.

Heading into this weekend's British Grand Prix, the spotlight is clearly on the Norris-Verstappen rivalry. Could we get a repeat of the Verstappen clash with Hamilton at Silverstone in 2021? Whilst the Dutchman's fans continue to defend their warrior against the papaya army, other people up and down the grid have been making changes.

Besides the Austrian calamities at the front of the field, there were several other triumphs in the hills of Spielberg. Nico Hülkenberg scored a fantastic sixth-place finish for the Haas outfit with his teammate not too far behind him. This was Haas' first double points finish of the year, and it was the feel-good story of the weekend. Could this be a turning point for Haas?

Oliver Bearman Signs For Haas

Speaking of Haas' success, the signing of Ferrari academy driver Oliver Bearman is the icing on the cake for the American outfit after having a strong showing in Austria. The young Brit will be the fourth driver on the grid to fly the Union Jack in 2025.

Bearman to Haas was one of the worst-kept secrets in the Formula One paddock, but regardless of that, his debut in a full-time seat next year is an exciting prospect.

After his fantastic debut for Ferrari in Saudi Arabia earlier in the year, the young Brit has been linked to Haas with rumours floating around at every Grand Prix. This weekend, the rumours have finally been put to bed and we will get to see Bearman take to the grid for more than just a one-off in 2025.

Red Bull Debut Fan-Designed Livery

Coming off a difficult Austrian Grand Prix, the current constructors championship leaders Red Bull have debuted a one-off fan-made livery for their home race this weekend. Technically entered as an Austrian team, their base is located only a short drive away from Silverstone in Milton Keynes, so the team's personnel will likely consider the track home grounds.

As for the livery, whilst not a huge amount of change, the subtle red accents on the side pods, and front and rear wings are a distinct addition to the usual design.

"In our 20th season in the sport, it is a timely tribute to years gone by and I can’t wait to see the Red Bull charge out at Silverstone this weekend” - Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing's Team Principal, told Formula One.

Ah also, no checo, no, not again :S..
I'm wondering if there's a performance clause in his current contract... because this can't go on, I think the best thing Red Bull can do is fire Haas a few quid and put Hulkenberg in the car for the rest of the season, on the understanding that any points should be deferred to Max where possible, that would give him podium after podium and secure a safe pair of hands to support the Championship, because Checo sure ain't in the ball game.

FROM WHAT I have read, I think they already have grounds to nullify the contract. It will be Riccardo or nobody it seems.

Yeah, rumor has it there is such a clause, apparently.. ricciardo, lawson might substitute checo, not sure what's going on with him, he'd never been in such a bad situation and shape.. nico would be perfect (what a performance today!), not sure it'd be feasible though xD..

Yeah, could be Lawson, but that's a heap of pressure to put on young shoulders, too much and it might mess with his career, Nick De Fries springs to mind for that, and to be honest Danni Ricc, is just as inconsistent as Checo, both are driving for their careers, and failing to hit marks.
I say Nico because he's a Super Sub, drop into any car and he's there, and he somehow manages to squeeze that extra little bit out at the right time.
We don't know what goes on in the minds of team managers... perhaps a driver shake up sees Lawson take Yuki's seat and he gets the drive of his life up there with Max, he ain't slow and he's been around for a few seasons now.

Well done to Mercedes and Hamilton, altough Russell having to retire was sad, the guy seems to have no luck in his home race.

Mclaren totally threw away this race, shocking, an incredible car and driver pair being totally undermined by lack of strategy.

That was a good race, and quite frankly the best reason that tracks should, in future, have a sprinkler system.

Driver of the Day - Got to give it to Lewis this time.

On this week's episode of how Mclaren loses a race with the fastest car:

-Zack let his mouth run again, so much that some fans start to call the team McKaren
-Lewis wins a race in the second fastest car
-Max finishes second in the third fastest car, a car that struggled so much that should had finished 6th. Laps his team mate twice
-The Mclaren team let the drivers to pick the strategy again, with predictable result
-Lando messes the start again. The car has pace to make up for it and then some: he get to lead but ends up finishing 3rd a race both Mclarens where leading with iron fist for half of the race
-Piastri manages to finish a lucky 4th due to Russel mechanical retirement, should had been second: thanks team
-Against all logic Max's lead increases again, Zack and Andrea blame a cloud (probably), as Max was unavailable this week to serve as a escape goat for their incompetence this week
-Despite all that, for some reason Lando almost managed to win the driver of the day, again

With every race that passes Mclaren is starting to look like 2022's Ferrari more and more.

very good race, nice for Hamilton that he managed to win again. Verstappen was just a lap or two short of winning today but finishes in the championship with the 3rd fastest car and that is the most important thing for me

I agree with you, it should have been a McLaren One-Two not a three (lucky) four, you cannot run a formula one team as a democracy, Drivers are paid workers, just as the rest of the team and each to his own job, and the Boss tells them what to do, make a call and the workers do it, and really with today's tech, the strategists have video of in every car around the track, there's no reason to ask the drivers what they think and offer multiple suggestions, as for double stacking... that was a no brainer, three seconds is all you need, that's one second lost... or go round again risking an off and drop 15-20 seconds.
DoD.
Well the bloke who started second and finished first, (allbeit the pole man retired the car) or a bloke that started on the third row and finished second, or, the bloke who bought his Haas home in front of both Aston Martins to finish 6th

Wow this was yet again an awesome race, great!! not sure how lando and mclaren managed to not win it though, again xD.. fantastic to have 3 teams fighting for the win and podium, that's what we all wanna see

As a brit and a Hamilton fan when he qualified on the front row yesterday he had a buzz and belief in his interviews that hasn't been present for a long long time. I even mentioned to my dad when we discussed it that if it was a mixed condition race today then Hamilton would win but I kind of said it tongue on cheek as genuinely had started to believe that maybe the reality was that he wouldn't win another race. So when Norris came out behind him I was pleasantly surprised.

Also expect Max had some deep down satisfaction in finishing ahead of Norris too.

Ah and awesome 10 final lap stint for max (and right decision in the pits erm cough cough mclaren cough)!! terrible ferrari xD

Norris covering the inside into Stowe, leaving the dry line and hoping to defend from the wet part, was yet another example of him just not being smart enough.

McLaren may have a very fast car, but that is not enough to make a winning team.

I'm not a Hamilton fan but well done for the win. Lando and McLaren really frustrate me. McLaren need to sharpen up as a team and Lando needs to have some Oscar grit. Oh and how much longer are Red Bull going to persevere with Perez? It's ridiculous.

I think mclaren need to stop putting all their eggs in one basket because it rarely pays off. I really don't get why people keep calling for ricciardo to replace perez. He's had his chance his form is up and down more times than a yoyo and since he broke his wrist last year he hasn't been the same. I think they'd benefit more from having Lawson in the car.

I agree, lando needs to improve, to be more aggressive, if he wants to win races and fight for the championship.
