Bug fix/Art pass update on WGI to bring it more in line with the style of Road America in some areas.
NOTE: I highly suggest you remove any previous versions before installing 1.1. I did away with the "endurance" layouts and just left the generator lights up all the time. So it is back down to 4 layouts with all being capable of night racing. Also the install process is back to a standard install. No more MODS folder or custom shaders required.
- Fixed holes between road and T1 apex curb. You can now properly use the first stage of the curb with minimal penalty.
- A strip of road on the outside of T1, T8, and T10 exit curbing will not cause a slowdown. This will allow you to hop the curbing a bit without penalty.
- New road textures
- New grass textures
- CSP Grass FX enabled. Legacy grass is still there for non CSP users.
- Curbs made brighter
- Exit T1 spectator mound added
- Blimp and banner plane from RA so when using CSP they will fly around in a pattern.
- Night lighting should be fixed and come on in the evening as they should.
- Probably more fixes I can't remember as it has been a while.
*********IMPORTANT*********
This track uses a custom shader by @Stereo. Because of this the the archive folder structure is different than previous versions. If you use Content Manager then you can just install it like any other mod. If you do not use Content manager make sure you copy the 3 folders shown here to the main assettocorsa folder.
If the game crashes when loading the track then you did not install it correctly. Please use the support forum if you have any issues.
Update details
- Lights added to work with shader mod.
- 4 extra endurance layouts that includes extra track lighting.
- Added some 2018 details such as the Turn 10 Terrace.
- Crowds now split between layer 4 and 5 so very high detail settings get some people
- New AI lines for all layouts
- Many little details added that I can't remember right now. This should mirror the rf2 conversion more closely now.
Here is v0.9 of Watkins Glen. There are still a few minor things I want to add but it is the busiest time of year for me so I figured I would put out a 0.9 until things slow down a bit. plus I need a little break from this.
There are way too many things to list as far as changes but I will point out the main ones.
- Track grip is a bit higher now from .99 to 1.01.
- Barricades added to bus stop cut as shown at previous IMSA race. Also the cut surface slows you down some. So you can cut but you won't gain any time with the slowdown and mini chicane.
- People, RVs/Tents, and pit boxes are in their own kn5 files. So if you want a track day experience like 0.7 is then you can rename the veh.kn5, people.kn5, pitobjects.kn5 in the track folder. These details are also tied to world detail settings so if you run low settings you will not see any of the added details.
- Some texture sizes reduced due to some reports of stuttering with 0.7
- Tons of details added all around the track.
- AI Barrier fixed so they don't slam the pit wall at the start.
